"Zanmaken!" ka-crak!
Something scrabbled over the roof, followed by something else landing a bit more solidly.
"Zankuusen!"
A series of impacts on the roof, causing the beams to crack.
"Kyon! Watch out!"
Kyon got a good look at it as it burst through the ceiling, coming directly for him. A spider the size of a horse, not counting the legs - though this one seemed to have several stumps oozing ichor of some kind where limbs used to be.
Then it hit, flattening him up against Nagato and a wall, with him trying to hold the creature off with arms that were already sore from workouts earlier in the day. "W-where's a bloody exterminator when you need one?"
The mandibles inched towards his face, and Kyon grimaced as he was quickly losing this fight.
Then Naruto was there behind the beast, completing another of those Shinmei-ryu manuevers. "Zankuusen revised!"
Kyon watched half of the giant spider fall away. He also watched as the remainder twisted and bit him in the arm.
Then everything went dark.
"-certainly seems better today."
Kyon frowned. Why did he feel like he weighed six times as much as he should. And why were there sandbags on his eyes?
"-altered spider. Certainly the infusion of chakra that had been given it was more than it could handle-"
Oh that's right. There was that spider thing. Talk about ugly.
"-altered physiology-"
Did I die? From a giant spider bite? Dang it, can't I even have a relatively normal death? Haruhi, this is all your fault!
"It was almost as if it knew where I was going to strike next. In other circumstances, I would have relished such a fight."
Naruto, you are entirely too much a fight junkie. And hyperactive. And annoying. No wonder you got kicked out of your monastery.
"What about that cipher expert?"
"Yuki Nagato? Completely uninjured. Though she has visited your world-tossed genin here every day."
Well at least there's that. Wait. She's been visiting every day? Huh. Well, if I'm stuck here - there's a certain ironic value in that I suppose. Haruhi gets miffed and throws me to the arms of another woman?
"Oh dear," said Itsuki, glancing to where Haruhi was staring with peculiar fascination at the monitor.
That Yuki Nagato had a faint blush visible on her face would have absolutely shocked anyone who cared to notice was not remarked on. Mainly because nobody was paying attention at the moment.
"Mrfff?" managed Kyon, trying to shift to more comfortable.
"Don't try to move yet, Mister Smith," said the unfamiliar voice. "Your body is going to be exhausted from its transformation."
Oh well that explains... say what?! Oh, heck it's getting darker - but someone explain that statement first!
Well, maybe a little nap first.
