[Episode 25169] [Episode 25169]When the crew of the Nirvana stepped into the pod containing Misty Cornwell, they had no clue about the dimensional gate which had intersected the pod while it drifted through space. And thus no clue that when their feet impacted on the deck, they knocked the inert virus's into the air.
Of course even when the virus's entered a host, it took time for them to awaken, then spread through their hosts system, and finally start infecting the rest of the crew.
And even that didn't clue the crew into the virus's nature. The strains of virus's had exchanged DNA and mutated slightly during their time in the pod, and many of the effects were muted. The increased arousal took longer to engulf the crew, taking a week to reach the level it would have otherwise taken a few hours to climb to. However, while the extensive fertility guarantees were not present in this strain, it did generate the mating imperative that made it impossible for the victim to satisfy the augmented arousal except through sexual contact with the opposite gender.
And since almost no one in the crew anything about sex with the opposite gender, that left almost everyone feeling a constant and growing sense of need that they didn't have any idea how to satisfy. Though some, when they looked at members of the opposite sex felt a gut level feeling that the solution to that need involved them somehow.
The Captain was one of the only two people in the crew who actually knew anything about male and female sex, however while the virus did invigorate many of her body systems, it did not have the youthening capacity of the original strain. Thus she was unaffected by the sexual aspects of the virus.
The other person on the Nirvana who understood was Misty Cornwell.
"Any luck?" Captain Magno asked over the viewscreen.
"Nothing yet." Duero said in his usual calm voice. "I've grown a viral culture with Parfait and Paiway's help, but while I suspect the virus was deliberately engineered, I can't even guess at it's purpose at this time. And I have no idea how to cure it, or diminish this strange. . . Feeling it's producing in the infected."
The Captain sighed. "Do your best," she said before cutting off the comm link.
Misty peered around the corner. Hibiki was walking toward her, and he seemed to be alone. She nodded to herself. The virus had been slower to affect her than most of the crew for a variety of reasons, but she actually understood what she was increasingly feeling, and had decided that she was going move while she was mostly in control.
"Are you still after Mister Alien?!" Asked a familiar voice from behind her.
Spining around Misty looked into Dita's frustration filled face. A dozen possible retorts, challenges and nasty oaths passed through her mind, but then she heard Hibiki's footsteps, and reached a decision. "Dita, you're feeling it right? That you need something and you don't know what it is? Well I know what it is, and it'll require Hibiki. So if you agree not to try and hog him to yourself I'll show you what you're craving."
A few days earlier Dita would have refused the request. A few days earlier she felt so frustrated by what she was feeling. "Ok, but he'll show us in my cabin."
"Good." Misty responded, then turned and stepped forward to grab Hibiki by the collar.
"Gaah, What did you do that for." Hibiki said crossly.
Misty stepped forward and wrapped an arm around Hibiki's. Frowning Dita jumped forward and grabbed the other arm. "Hey!" Hibiki called.
"You promised you'd come to my room." Dita commented as she started forward. Misty took up the same pace as Dita and they both dragged Hibiki between them.
"HEY!"
