"Didn't we already train at the Academy?" asked Naruto.

"Yeah, this is more advanced, if you're up to it," said Shinobu. "And so far I ain't impressed, so there's a little test tomorrow morning. Call it a placement test. You pass, you get placed. You fail, you go back to the Academy as disgraces."

"Uhm," said Naruto, holding up a hand. "I got summons and fuuinjutsu. Terra can throw fire and healing jutsu. Fang's a dragon. Why the heck wouldn't be ready for a genin squad? Hell's Little Mutant Fishies - I think we're overqualified."

"Hmph. Full of yourself, aren't you?" said Shinobu. "Okay, let's get the introductions done and out of the way so we can meet in Training Ground Number one-three tomorrow at oh-nine-hundred. Shinobu Mibu, chunin. My likes are history, melon bread, and large explosions that are NOT anywhere near me. My dislikes are lies, traitors, loud people, and large explosions that are in or near my personal space. My hobbies are history, cooking, and brewing. My dream is to retire. You're up, blonde and loud."

"Naruto Uzumaki!" declared Naruto. "My likes are my friends, ramen, and being awesome! My dislikes are people who judge before they know the facts, the time it takes for instant ramen to cook. Which by the way, also irks me. They should call it 'minute ramen' if it's gonna take a minute - dattebayo! I like being able to summon friends. My dream is to become Hokage!"

"Terra Branford," said Terra. "I like moogles, airships, healing. I dislike clowns. I also dislike mad scientists, spicy foods, and people who desecrate the dead. My dream is to someday have children."

"Fang Long," said Fang. "I enjoy tea, fishing, and fighting strong opponents. I dislike gossips, evil masterminds, and irresponsible people. My dream is to repay Naruto for saving me and my sister."
