Nabiki held up a letter. "According to this, Ranma's grandmother, Hinata Urashima, is willing to turn over ownership of the Hinata Lodge to him if he can prove himself capable of running the place for a year."
Ukyou interrupted. "Wait, Ranma has an inheritance that his old man hasn't tried to cash in on yet?"
"Surprisingly enough, yes," Nabiki said. "Ranma's grandmother has made certain that Genma has no way of getting his hands on the lodge, even going so far as to put on the deed that the lodge must remain family property indefinitely, meaning that there's no way that it can be sold or traded."
"So, this means that Ranma-sama is to be the propriotor of this travel lodge?" inquired Kodachi.
"Travel lodge sound nice," Shampoo said. "Is in nice place in mountains, yes?"
Just the thing, Ukyou thought to herself. I can move there and be alone with Ran-chan, and there's nothing these two or Akane can do about it! Plus it's a travel lodge! Outdoor baths and hiking and great food and... Ukyou started to drift off into her private dreamland.
"Hot springs in Hinata Town in Kanagawa Prefecture, actually," said Nabiki (Note: Kanagawa prefecture is next to Tokyo, and Hinata is about two hours from Tokyo Central Rail Station by commuter train, putting it about two and a half hours from Nerima.). "And it's not a travel lodge any more. It seems that Ranma's grandmother has converted it into a women's dormitory."
