Dungeon Keeper Ash: Digletting the Pokedungeon [Episode 252683]

by Kestral

"Diggle diggle diggle diggle diggle diggle diggleet!"

POP!

"Diggle?"

"No," said the old man, pointing to the left. "River's that way."

"Diggle!" said the odd creature, bowing towards the old man and then ducking down into its tunnel again.

"Huh. I don't remember gnomes looking like that, but it HAS been a few decades," said the old man, scratching his head.

"So, a bakery," said Ash.

"So, a Gardevoir," said Misty.

"She looks very human," noted Ash.

"Yeah, the one on my pokedex doesn't have breasts," said Misty, a little put out by that.

"Eh? No, I meant the hands," said Ash. "Makes sense if she's operating the bakery though. Having thumbs and all."

"Sometimes I wonder about you, Ash," noted Misty.

"Okay, I got a Sandshrew digging out those gems," said Ash, closing his eyes and accessing his Dungeon Heart for information. "A set of Diglett that are running water and sewage lines like the blueprints say to do."

"That is kind of important," admitted Misty.

"Another Sandshrew is working on expanding the corridors," said Ash. "The Chansey is in the Pokecenter, Sunflora is working in the Farm room, Phanpey is flattening floors and otherwise on guard duty."

"Do you really think you need guards? What are the chances of Team Rocket or pokethieves showing up?" asked Misty.

"I dunno, but the roster has a position marked 'guards' and I figured Phanpey can be pretty loud when he wants to," responded the distracted Ash. "Marrowak is also a guard. Totodile is in charge of the bath-"

"There's a job listing?" asked Misty.

"Yeah," said Ash. "And as soon as a room gets finished, it puts up the job associated with it and wants me to assign a pokemon to it. Since every time I finish a room - I get a new pokemon - that's usually the one I assign."

"Wait. When I got this uniform and this," said Misty, forming a globe of water in one hand, "that thing said I was your 'minion' - what job did you put ME under?"

"'Reserve' - why?" responded Ash, opening his eyes to look at her.

"Oh, nevermind," said Misty.

"And Reserve Water Supply is dug out and filling," said Ash. "We can use that as a pool for water pokemon, the water goes through a filter and purification system - see diagram A subsection D - some of this stuff is complicated."

"Well, I'm going to go check out that 'Reserve Water Supply' and your filter system," announced Misty. "The Cerulean Gym had that sort of thing so it's at least something I'm familiar with."

"Okay, I'm switching you from 'Reserves' to that," said Ash, closing his eyes again.

"You might consider bedrooms," said Misty before she exited.

"Already done," said Ash, though Misty had already left. "Unfortunately I apparently need to go somewhere else for furniture."
