That left Usagi and Rei, the Megami and the Angel who should be up in Nabiki's room looking at her manga. Something told her that those two would actually be the easiest to talk to out of the group, from her introduction earlier Usagi struck her as an open and friendly A-type girl, in all someone that Akane wouldn't mind making friends with anyway. Rei on the other hand seemed a bit more reserved and quiet, a natural response for a victim of what the pokégirl Nabiki told her that she went through, she might be a little harder getting to know than Usagi; however something told Akane that it would be more than worth it getting to know her.
Still a little on the cautious side, Akane knocked on the door of her sister's room. "Feel free to come in," Usagi's friendly voice rang out. "It is your house." Carefully Akane entered and saw that Rei and Usagi were just sitting down reading manga, well in Usagi's case lying down on Nabiki's bed. A cursory glance showed that Usagi was reading a copy of Wedding Peach while Rei was sitting down at Nabiki's desk reading a copy of The Rose of Versailles. It was odd that for genetically engineered weapons from an alternate reality the scene looked completely normal- well except for Rei's hair color and Usagi's hair cut still they looked like a couple of roommates relaxing.
"So how are you two liking this world?" Akane said trying to break the ice.
"Are you kidding?" Usagi proclaimed along squealing in joy. "It's great, you can go between towns without getting attacked by crazed ferals, people on the street talk to you like your people and not animals and everything is so amazing. I do get some weird looks from people though."
"Well to tell you the truth Usagi your hair and clothes are a bit unusual," Akane said as she began to explain to the Megami pokégirl. "They probably take you for either a weird foreigner or a cosplaying otaku. Once we get some money saved up we'll take you and the other's shopping for some more normal looking clothes."
"We might need to get the number of a good seamstress." Rei stated from her place at Nabiki's desk. "Rain will need a hole for her tail, as do Nabiki and Kasumi. While Kasumi and I both need ours altered to accommodate our wings."
"I'm certain that we can find someone." Akane said while trying to strike up a conversation with Rei. "So Rei how do you like it here?"
"It is alright at present," Rei stated. "At present no one has been unpleasant towards me, although some individuals do give me curious looks, I assume that is because my hair and eyes are unusual colors from what is considered normal."
"Don't worry Rei," Akane said as she carefully patted the Angel on the back. "I'm certain that if you stay in town long enough, and get to know the people around Furinkan, that our neighbors won't really think twice about what you girls look like."
Rei reply was turning towards Akane looking her in the eye and telling her, "Thank you."
That was the moment that Usagi chose to float off of the bed and press the two together in a double-hug, "Aww, I just know that we'll all be the best of friends Akane, I mean the more I'm around you the more you seem like our Akane. I know maybe we could all have a slumber party tonight."
Suddenly Akane realized how come Rei and Usagi did get along together, although on the surface Rei was quiet and subdued and Usagi was energetic and boisterous when you looked at them deeper down they complemented each other perfectly. Rei if you looked beneath her seemingly indifferent demeanor was like a cozy fireplace on a cold winter’s day, while Usagi was like energetic and joyful as the Bon Festival. Rei kept her emotions close and only opened up in the right company while Usagi wore her heart on her sleeve and was actively friendly, Usagi nurtured Rei while Rei gave Usagi a much needed source of restraint when it was needed they worked in balance- and they wanted to get to know her.
"Sure I'll have to ask Kasumi, um my Kasumi that is, if we can use the living room. It's lucky that you arrived on a Saturday so I don't have school tomorrow, speaking of which we will need to find out a way to get all of you registered." Akane said as she knew that something told her that she needed to get to know these two faster than the others.
Then Akane received a response from the Angel that struck her to the core, it wasn't anything amazing just a simple, warm and heartfelt smile. That was when Akane knew that she had made the right decision in standing up to her father about these girls. "Will anyone else want to join us?"
"Well Rain might," Usagi said as she sat down mid-air and stroked her chin. "As she didn't grow up at the Tendo Ranch with the rest of us she only knows our Akane from stories, she'll probably want to get to know you simply because she doesn't have any frame of reference to you. Shampoo would as well but tonight is her turn with Ranma and she probably will be in no mood to join us later. As for our Nabiki and Kasumi they probably want to spend a little time getting to know your sister's tonight, after all how often is it that you get to meet and spend time with another version of- you."
"Thanks’ for the idea Usagi," Akane said as she got ready to leave the room. "I need to go talk with the others, and make plans with Kasumi before I go to the market and pick up a few things."
"Okay see you later!" "Thank you."
Akane walked out of Nabiki's room with a smile as she went to go talk with...
