The Doctor Is In: Tomobiki: The Circus No More (DARK) [Episode 254453]

by Gorgo

Tomobiki High School (local time: after breakfast)…

"Ohayō, Shinobu-chan!"

Miyake Shinobu blinked before she turned to wave at two of her classmates, Marubeya Momoe and Gekasawa Kumiko. "Ohayō, minna. Wonderful morning, isn't it?"

"No more Lum!" Momoe, a tall and statuesque girl with short black hair and dark brown eyes, stated. "And good riddance to her! Even the Stormtroopers have finally woken up to that!" A nod off to one side. "Look over there."

Shinobu looked…and then she giggled on seeing Perm with a couple girls from one of the freshman classes. "Well, it's about time. Admiring Lum was one thing, but those four really took it to extremes at times. Right from the space taxi…"

"Which never took any oil from anywhere beyond Tomobiki," Kumiko noted.

"How did they do that anyway?!" Momoe asked.

Shinobu hummed. "Probably with some magical help. That's how they were able to trick Rupa and Lum into believing the mushrooms were threatening all of Earth."

The other girls nodded. Before Infinity had left Tomobiki for her home in Nagano, she had used her Infinite Wave to wipe out whatever magical or technological memory-altering had been unleashed on the people living in this part of Metropolitan Tōkyō. That — atop making everyone realise that the man they once viewed as the "cancer of the town" had NOT lived in Tomobiki since he was six until he was captured and brainwashed into ultimately being Lum's "perfect husband" — also had removed the veil over people's eyes when it came to events beyond the borders of the town. Which, Shinobu knew, was a good thing in the end. She herself had been one of the first victims of the MIBs' actions against Ataru…and with the information now pouring into her personal computer thanks to Nexus, she was learning how far and how deep the whole move to entrap Ataru and depower all those he had helped become metahumans went.

Of course, the Warlock and Soul Searcher had done a favour for the two girls who WERE Yizibajohei-type metas now living in Tomobiki.

Which was a good thing, Shinobu mused.

While she and Fujinami Ryūnosuke would gladly jump into a fight scene or lend their powers and skills over to deal with natural disasters, they didn't want to be mobbed.

They had their own lives, after all!

"RYŪNOSUKE!"

Shinobu then winced. "He's starting already," she muttered.

"Oh, did you hear?" Momoe asked.

"What?"

"It turns out that Nagisa girl was actually a GUY!" Momoe — she was Tomobiki High's local gossip queen — then stated. "And that he was a GHOST, too!"

Shinobu smirked. "I was there when Nagisa-kun came back, Momoe. I know that."

"But get this! Some little American kid calling herself Cadaverine came to the school and banished Nagisa's ghost out of Ryūnosuke-kun's apartment!"

Shinobu gaped in a perfect look of surprise; no one in Tomobiki now knew of her being Wildflower, so she had to pretend that she didn't know much about what happened over the last couple of days. "No way!"

"How many girls did Ataru-kun go after anyway?!" Kumiko then wondered.

"Must have been quite a bit," Momoe mused…

…and then she gaped. "Oh, gods! Who is THAT?!"

Shinobu looked…and then she giggled. "That's Ryūnosuke," she said.

Silence.

More silence.

Still more silence.

And then…

"RYŪNOSUKE'S A GIRL?!" both Momoe and Kumiko screamed out.

As Fujinami Ryūnosuke — now dressed in a proper girl's seifuku; it was her dressing that way that had freaked out her father Fujimi, which forced her to nearly crush his head with a pair of handy cinder blocks — gazed their way, Shinobu gave her classmate a knowing look, as if she was saying, We're actually CLASSMATES with these idiots?!

Noting that, the Huntress of the Wild could only nod…

Approaching the school…

"Um…Young Master?"

"Yes?"

"That…fellow that visited you last night…?"

A sigh. "He was simply one of the many others this Professor Wyszynski fellow — the one that took Moroboshi to this Yiziba planet ten years ago — also helped to acquire metahuman powers," Mendō Shūtarō stated as his driver guided the World War Two-vintage Steyr 1500A command car down the street towards Tomobiki High School. "He wished to garnish my assistance in possibly going to that world myself to gain my own 'gift.'"

The Mendō Clan paramilitary soldier perked. "Are you…?"

"I am considering it," the scion of Japan's richest family answered.

"I see…"

"Don't speak of this to anyone else," Mendô warned.

A determined nod. "Hai."

With that, silence fell as the industrialist's son considered what had just happened over the last two days. To believe that Moroboshi Ataru — a man he had always hated and despised — had actually decided the whole last year of his life in Tomobiki simply DIDN'T MATTER AT ALL…and acted on that decision by LEAVING Tomobiki once and for all to return to his true home on a planet three hundred light-years away.

And while there was a small part of Mendō Shūtarō that DID understand that…

…that Moroboshi had ALSO driven off the beautiful Lum-san from Earth was simply unforgivable in the eyes of the scion of Japan's richest family.

Who on Earth gave that selfish bastard the right to do THAT to Lum-san?!

To RIP HER AWAY from those in Tomobiki who cared for her…like Mendō Shūtarō?!

After all, she hadn't really meant any harm deep down!

All she had wanted — all she had EVER wanted ever since she had elected to pursue Moroboshi — was for the stupid fool to admit in public that he loved her!

And deep down, Mendō knew that Moroboshi HAD loved her!

How simple had that been in the end?!

And yet…

And now…

Now…

Mendō tried not to snarl as the grip on his katana — it was actually a modified shin-guntō officer's sword from World War Two as the Mendō Clan's honour sword was in the possession of his grandfather, Mendō Genjurō — tightened ever so slightly. It was bad enough that Lum-san was no doubt back on her home planet, cowering at the thought of the Yizibajohei unleashing their planet-wrecking "Mother of All Fight Scenes" on hapless Uru once again were she to try to claim her would-be husband again. It was even worse that the man who had DONE that to her was now on that planet three hundred light-years away, totally safe from ANY sort of proper retribution from those who had done so much to ensure Lum-san would be happy on Earth. And it simply drove Mendō to a frothing rage to know that the rest of Earth had APPLAUDED Moroboshi's actions!

IDIOTS!

Had they NO idea what was really going on here?!

He then sighed.

No.

People outside Tomobiki just wouldn't care in the end. They had not been affected by Lum-san as much as people inside Tomobiki had been. And even at that, there were many in Tomobiki who had started to speak out AGAINST Lum-san and what her presence had done in town over the last year. Knowing that — hearing the words of such ungrateful fools — had almost made Mendō order his Kuromegane out to silence such disrespectful idiots as quickly as possible to show what speaking out against Lum-san would cost them.

And yet…

Yet…

The Mendō estate, the previous evening after supper…

"So what is happening? What have you learned about these Yizibajohei?"

The Kuromegane standing in front of their young employer shook their heads. "It appears that Master Warlock, Madame Soul Searcher and Madame Infinity were far too thorough in editing the memories of all those who were close to the Moroboshi home before Young Master Moroboshi returned back to Yiziba," one of them stated. "We have no idea who is what or where they live. And even if we could find them…"

"Given that they all owe a considerable debt to Moroboshi Ataru, the chances of any of them actually helping you go to Yiziba to see him are quite small," another stated.

Hearing that, Mendō shuddered. It had been hell at dinner today. His sister Ryōko — who hadn't got any chance to do anything with Moroboshi before he vanished — had been beside herself, driven to tears at the fact that she would be able to "play" anymore with Moroboshi Ataru. And she — for what reason, Mendō would never begin to understand — had decided that her brother was to blame for this state of affairs. Fortunately, Mendō hadn't suffered too much; his sister — while she was a cruel and vindictive little bitch deep down — hadn't succeeded in seriously hurting him so far and he had managed to escape the dining room without too much injury. But beside that, Mendō himself was furious at Moroboshi for having done what he did to poor Lum-san.

It HAD to be redressed!

The sooner, the better.

To hell with what Ryōko was feeling! Mendô's primary concern was getting Lum-san back!

And if doing so allowed her to finally accept him as a would-be husband…

The sky truly would no longer be the limit!

"Continue to try to learn who these women are," Mendō then bade. "You may go."

The RayBan-wearing bodyguards bowed before they headed out of the private study, the last one leaving closing the door behind him. Once he was alone, Mendō snarled out, "Oh, no, Moroboshi! You won't get away with this! Lum-san will have her justice!"

"Why are you so concerned about a SAME?"

Mendō gasped on hearing that strange voice, and then he spun around…

…to find himself staring at a tall Western man with dark hair parted down the centre of his head and dark eyes. He appeared to be about Mendō's age and he was dressed quite flatteringly in a black skin-tight jumpsuit with various silver lines intertwined in bond-like patterns across his arms and legs. "Who are you?!" the scion of Japan's richest family snapped as he drew his sword and moved threateningly towards the newcomer. "How did you get into this place?! Talk, gaijin!"

"Hey! Hey! Put the sword away, pal! I'm trying to help you!" the newcomer said as he waved off the other man's anger, an amused smile crossing his face. "I know you're pissed off at the fact that the man you marked as your adversary just decided to abandon the fight scene and head back to his country cabin! Chased off the girl you were crushin' on, too! Don't worry about it, friend! I'm on your side!"

Silence.

"You're from Yiziba?!" Mendô demanded.

"Actually, I'm from California. I got my powers from the Great Crystal of Yiziba, but that's all I've really had to do with that planet since I got my Gift."

"Then you can take me there so I can find Moroboshi!" Mendō snapped.

"And get killed along the way."

More silence.

"Excuse me?" Mendō eeped.

A chuckle. "First of all, introductions. I'm John Pfeifer," the newcomer said as he gave his host a gracious Oriental bow, which made Mendō blink before he automatically bowed back. "I'm from Sweet Valley; it's a little town outside Los Angeles on the Santa Barbara coast. That's one of the places Ataru went to MANY times to get girls to go to Yiziba so they could get Gifted. One of them — she's Rampage — is really sweet on the guy. Whole ton of others who want to bed the guy come from the Valley, too. Oblivion, Trebuchet, the Dominatrix, Cyclotron…" A growl entered his voice on his mentioning that last line-name. "So what happens? You go charging onto Yiziba trying to fight Moroboshi…and a whole bunch of girls who could fight Superman will be all over you like a plague! If you make it back home alive, sport, you'll be lucky."

Still more silence.

"But what can I do then?!" Mendō demanded. "Lum-san will NEVER get any justice for what Moroboshi did to her! She's back home, cowering under her bed…!"

"Yeah, I know," Pfeifer answered. "And despite her comin' from a race of sames, she's a meta like all of us. Why she didn't try to pursue Ataru to Yiziba, I just don't understand it." He then smirked. "But that's beside the point. You'll get the chance to get the girl you want soon enough. But if you ever want any hope of beating Ataru down, you have to accept a certain Gift from a certain Great Crystal.

"In other words, friend, you have to become Yizibajohei."

Silence fell as the scion of Japan's richest family considered that for a moment, and then he gazed on the other man. "Tell me more, John-san."

The man who was now the current incarnation of the Dark Hunter of the Soul, the Violator, tried not to smile too much on hearing that…

"Young Master. We're here."

Mendō perked on hearing that, and then he nodded as he stood up in the back seat of his command car, reaching for his briefcase and sword. "Return when school ends."

"Hai," the driver — who had got out to open the back door — said, bowing.

And with that, the scion of Japan's richest family headed up the path to the main doors leading into Tomobiki High School. As he walked up, Mendō absently waved at several girls who were gazing his way. He certainly didn't mind the attention; yes, there was the plan to have him marry Mizunokōji Asuka to bring final peace between his family and her own, but he knew such could fall through at any time. Given Asuka's androphobia — another thing Moroboshi's lechery had caused — and her own superhuman strength, the idea of spending one's wedding night in the embrace of such had woman had preyed on his nightmares from time to time even if she was a very beautiful woman deep down.

And yet…

Mendō blinked as he considered what John Pfeifer had offered him the previous night. The chance to go face this Great Crystal of Power and become like Moroboshi Ataru in every way conceivable. If he did that, he could then face down the bastard and finally defeat the fool. Perhaps even find some way to take away all the girls Pfeifer had mentioned away from him. And even more so, go to Uru and find Lum-san, then make her see that her fears about Yizibajohei were false. After all, it would be quite hard to launch a "Mother of All Fight Scenes" when there was less than TEN THOUSAND effective metahumans — including all the NON-super-strong types — alive on the planet!

Why…

Perhaps he could…

He paused to gaze upon the girls nearby. As all of them perked on noting that their favourite male classmate was gazing their way — resulting in them giving him shy smiles in return as they all tittered in embarrassment — he then nodded.

Wait a minute…!

Why not give all of THEM the chance to get even with Moroboshi, too?

Smirking as the idea of all the other girls Moroboshi had tried to hit on over the years beating up on him — just like it had been before the whole matter with Rupa had ultimately brought that Destructo fellow to Earth to help destroy Lum-san's life — the scion of Japan's richest family then turned to walk inside the school…

"Yeah, dude. Dream all you want. You won't really get it until it's too late…"

With that, John Pfeifer — who had rented a hotel room in Tomobiki near the town's most famous high school when he came to see Mendō Shūtarō — smirked before he turned to gaze on the dazed and barely-conscious woman on the bed nearby.

"But then again, it's all ultimately for the good of Yiziba."

A chuckle escaped him as he took a sip from the can of beer — like other Terrans-turned-Yizibajohei, the current incarnation of the Violator couldn't get drunk on Earth alcohol — in his hand before gazing once more towards the rustic schoolhouse nearby.

"'Sides, it's just not fair for the faces to have all the damned fun!"

With that, the Dark Hunter of the Soul moved to get dressed. It had been child's play for the psychic predator to catch Mizunokōji Asuka as she was about to leave Keppeki Girls Junior High School and get her clear of all her friends and bodyguards so he could have some fun with her. Even if she was as strong as he was — which made Pfeifer wonder if some unnamed Yizibajohei had come to Earth long ago to mate with one of her ancestors, thus passing on that superhuman strength through the generations to her — she was so damned naïve, taking her maidenhead and turning her into a mindless sex slave had been like taking candy away from a baby. And if that arrogant bitch who was this stupid kid's mother tried to cause any trouble with him, she could be broken as well.

Being superhumanly strong WITHOUT any sort of invulnerabilities — especially against any sort of psychic threats — wouldn't save anyone like Asuka or her mother Saeko from the Violator.

Sighing as he moved to drink the rest of his beer, he then reached out mentally to make Asuka forget what had just happened to her. He'd make sure she was cleaned up and properly dressed before putting her down close to Keppeki in an hour or so.

As for her broken maidenhead, well it was too bad; she had been a good lay.

And one day soon, Lila, so will you, the former sports editor for the Sweet Valley High School newspaper, the Oracle, then mused to himself as we…
