After the third one, he found the one he was looking for.
"Sprayer arm! Active!" Rock said as he snapped out his normal forearm for the new one.
"Ya don't really need to say that," pointed out Roll.
"Might as well," said Rock.
"Fence painting," said Naruto, looking somewhat disgusted with the idea.
"You're supposed to be doing normal D-Rank missions in addition to your less-normal activities," said the woman watching over them.
"How do you like the new Cat-mask anyway?" asked Naruto.
"Have to see what the Hokage and everyone else involved thinks," said Cat. "The air filtration system and other 'extras' certainly make them attractive in certain ways. We'd have to keep them back for special occasions only though - too much chance we'd draw attention we're not ready for otherwise."
"Oh," said Naruto.
"While Rock is painting the fence, maybe you could work on the grapnel gun?" asked Roll.
"Actually," said Naruto, "I've got a better idea!"
"A 'transport'?" asked the Hokage, looking at the sketches. Except that they didn't look like drawings made by hand.
"He heard about Team 7 going on that C-Rank mission," said Ibiki drily. "Naturally, he wants his own."
"Team 7 has a perfectly normal C-Rank," said the Hokage. "It's not like we can keep them confined to the village and away from danger forever."
"Team 7 is going outside the village to hunt wild boar near the border with the Land of Fields," said the Hokage. "Not terribly dangerous to a team headed by Kakashi Hatake."
"Nonetheless the word has spread enough that Naruto, who spends an enormous amount of time working on various projects for his special arts, has heard." Ibiki shook his head. "Admittedly, Rock or Roll can repair such gadgetry as he has already put out, but you know he's just going to get worse about it."
The Hokage grunted at that, shortly before the sounds of a vending machine transforming and apprehending his grandson could be heard from the corridor outside. "Must have been trying to sneak in here."
Ibiki nodded.
"Well, let's see what his transportation looks like - and how many times it explodes - before we decide on any of this," said the Hokage.
"You needed to build a bigger 'interface'?" asked Cat, back to wearing a modified ceramic ANBU mask. The eyeholes were bigger and fitted with lenses and the voice was somewhat distorted and had an odd quality to it. It didn't have all the 'features' of the more elaborate masks Naruto had designed.
"Yeah," said Naruto, tapping his bracer. "Fab-1, allows me to make parts as big as my forearm. Fab-2 here allows me to make parts like engine blocks. Much bigger and heavier."
"So what are you making now?" asked Cat.
"Transportation," said Naruto. "Team 7 gets to hunt wild boar."
"The boar have multiplied in that region and are doing damage to farms," said Cat. "It's a perfectly normal C-Rank."
"Didn't say it wasn't," said Naruto as he picked up some odd rod device and moved some dark goggles down over his eyes. "Can't let them get too far ahead of me though."
Cat noticed that when Naruto started welding, her own lenses darkened automatically to shield her vision, then cleared when she turned away. "So what do you call this form of 'transportation' anyway?"
