Restart Deluge! Lantern 2814.5: Lantern 2814.5 [Episode 256235]

by The Demented Redhead

Energy is constant, immortal beyond what many understand.

He had been energy, been back and forth between the material forms, trying to further his knowledge.

But for now, Krona was struggling, trying to regain his strength as his enormous will was focused on the task of restoring himself.

He had chosen Earth for one reason: because he knew what was there: The Entity. He knew what it was capable of, even if at the moment, he had neither the power nor the resources to access the being directly.

But just being on this backwashed world was helping in his healing process, allowing him to focus on other matters, such as revenge, experiments, revenge, healing, and revenge. His adventures to expand the frontiers of his knowledge had gifted him with many … deserving persons to seek revenge upon.

But for the moment, what he needed was time, time to recover, time to plot, time to devise…

He paused, wondering what he was hearing. He had come to a far corner of Earth, wanting to avoid any attention from the local advanced humans, but … he could hear a female … praying?

Creeping closer, he allowed his mind to scan hers to learn the language, to gauge her if she was a threat or not, and allow him to consider his newest options.

“So, I beseech thee,” the redheaded Japanese woman spoke, bowing before a large shrine to the Shinto God, Izanagi, “please grant me and my husband our dream, and grant me a manly son.”

Krona narrowed his eyes, observing the woman. He could already sense that she was indeed pregnant, a male if the genes stabilized and it was carried to term. Already, if it survived, the child had incredible potential.

Potential … now that potential could be useful to him. Humans seemed to be able to subvert him with effort; perhaps a result of having The Entity sealed upon their world. It would seem that they might even be the greatest weapon his traitorous people would use against him.

Perhaps now … he could use one of them against the so-called Guardians. Yes, it would be fitting, and as he was stuck in the past, weakened until he fully caught up with his true place in time…

Smirking darkly, he stood, using his power to change his appearance as he strode forward, capturing the woman’s attention. With a come-hither gesture, he telekinetically moved her towards him.

“Greetings, Nodoka Saotome. I am Izanagi-no-Mikoto, creator of all Japan and he who will create a new destiny for your son, Matriarch of the Saotome family.”

Blinking her eyes, the redhead did what she felt was a perfectly normal and honorable reaction to meeting the God of Gods of her religion.

She passed out.

“So,” Nodoka spoke, as Izanagi finished wrapping her midsection, “this will help my child?” she asked. She was ecstatic that she had been blessed by the Kami to have a son. But the Kami were now elevating her unborn child to an even further destiny.

She wanted to ask why, what for, any number of questions to try and determine why the Kami would gifting her so.

But such wasn’t her place to question the Father of the Kami, essentially the Father of Japan. The last time such had occurred—that she could recall—was the Kami creating the First Emperor. And as such, she certainly did not wish to offend the Kami by postulating what destiny they might have in store for her Manly Son!

“Oh yes,” Krona nodded, still in disguise, as he wrapped his recently created cloth around her midsection: evolutionary bandages. These were an early prototype, designed not to focus their energies on the woman, but the small embryo growing inside of her.

In fact, he would continue working on this project, until they could work on him as well, and allow him to evolve to the point his traitorous brethren were, and beyond. But first, he needed to ensure they would work safely … on him, which meant using the fetus as a test-bed for the technology. Who knew; it might even create an evolved human strong enough for him to use against the so-called Guardians of the Universe.

Slipping back a bit, he nodded, the tightness of the cloth was enough for now, the energies were already in effect. At this point, the spawn was already too young to be infused with any of the Emotional Spectrum—although if he could access a sample of it, he’d be interested to see what including a chunk of The Entity might do.

“Do not trouble yourself, Matriarch of Clan Saotome,” he continued, using a voice Nodoka had always dreamed would come from the Shinto God of Gods. “The destiny of your child has been written, and I shall endeavor to see it carried out to its fullest.”

Oh, yes… He had grand designs for this child, indeed…

The woman lay, passed out in her bed from the exhaustion of delivering her child.

The husband … was currently somewhere, getting intoxicated with a male friend.

Actually, Krona was interested in this … ‘liquor’ stuff, wondering if it was possible for even him to get drunk upon it, and if so, could the Guardians as well…?

Shaking his head, he looked down at the bundle in his arms, small, weak … but oh so potent…

Using his free hand, he gathered a bit of Willpower at the tip, enough to test his theory, not enough to alert those whom he wished not too.

His smile grew as he saw inside the pupil of the human infant’s blue eyes, the green symbol of Ion form, the symbol used for the Green Lantern Corps.

With one last test, he changed the gathered Willpower to Fear, something only he, as former Caretaker of the Emotional Entities, could do.

And like that, the symbol changed color to yellow as well, now the symbol of Parallax.

“Excellent,” he purred, setting the child back down into the sleeping woman’s arms. As much as he wanted to bring the child with him, circumstances precluded it. His design for the Evolutionary Cloth was done, ready for him. As such, if he wanted to reach his fullest potential, and enact his revenge, he needed to sequester himself.

Ryut would do. It was in Sector 666, so it would not be disturbed. And if the gathering power he sensed was what he thought it was, then it too would further shield his evolution and stronghold from scrutiny.

“Grow strong, Child,” Krona smirked, dropping his Earth God disguise, and began to move away. “Grow strong, for when I return, you shall serve me well…”

Only a few heavily medicated people in the hospital ever heard his laughter, as he teleported himself away.
