"So... ummm... what was that?" Louise asked of her Familiar after the duel was over and she and her Familiar had a bit of privacy.
"That my dear, was why I am known as The Stormbringer at home." replied her aged and somewhat weary Familiar, "Though, admittedly, I doubt I could call down Jupiter's Wrath like that for a bit... age may not have hampered my magic but that does not mean I have the stamina I did in my Youth."
"How did you learn that?" asked Louise, "It was beyond any Square Class, or even Hexagon Class Magic known."
"Ah, little Louise, I am the Stormbringer... it is not merely an appellation, it is also a Duty and Nature. I am the one who ensured the skies were clear when needed, that rain came when needed, that important ships had the needed winds and currents. The only title which bears more weight to it is also borne by me, Master of Death. The Duty and Nature of that title is not something I believe you need to, or should, know." replied Harry
"But... why do you need to do that? How did you learn?" asked Louise.
"Little Louise, my home is not so calm as this world, not only are the many Nation and City-States torn by war, but long and reckless use of magic made my home unstable, the Earth cries in agony. Yet, in order to carve out a living we must tear it even more, the Balance of Nature no longer exists save where enforced by man... and even that is but a mockery." replied Harry, "I learned because I had an affinity for such magics and the power to use them for long periods of time, coupled with the control to summon breezes rather than the Hurricanes my full strength, even as a lad, could unleash."
"That... sounds like a terrible place to live." Louise whispered, shocked by what her Familiar had revealed.
"It was and wasn't. Like everything there was good and bad." replied the elder calmly.
"But-" Louise began only to be cut off by her Familiar.
"Now now, don't go feeling sorry for my people or myself. We chose this way of life long ago, when we tore apart our world in search of more power. Now the strength of the world rests in the hands of man, and so does the responsibility to keep it running." he sighed, "But, not all of us who hold the duty do it properly, there have been many who have turned their office and Duty into a way to strike at their foes, both within their lands and without."
"I... I don't understand." Louise said, as she turned and ran to her room, to hide from the revelations her Familiar had granted her at her request.
