Ranma felt the familiar feeling associated with the changes of genders, and sighed in relief. That relief was short lived when Inuyasha spoke up. "I ain't entirely sure what's going on with the gender changing, but his hair still being colorful is a bad thing, right?"
Before any further comment could be made, however, Ranma's face gained a look of shock, and he fell forward onto his hands and knees. The reason for his surprise became apparent, when the others saw two protrusion stretching out the back of his shirt. This time, his entire body was engulfed in flame. With a cry of shock, his shirt was torn asunder, as a pair of flaming wings burst from his back, causing most of the onlookers to retreat slightly.
As quickly as it had appeared, the fiery aura dissipated. Ranma slowly stood up in the center of a circle of charred grass, silently thankful that he had not been inside when he changed. Slowly turning his head, he was slightly awed at the sight of the shimmering golden-feathered wings that were now a part of him. He was pulled away from admiring them by the sound of Akane's voice, far softer that it usually was.
"Ranma..." He turned to look at the others, seeing surprise on their faces, and shockingly, a hint of fear on Akane's and Cologne's. "Ranma, you look... you look just like Saffron!"
Sure enough, there was no denying that Ranma had become part Phoenix.
