But as the power of the Stones grew, they managed to break through their seals which they were kept, and were scattered into and all across the Earth Realm, sealing off Avalon.
Now, whoever has a Power Stone can take on a new form... A form that is powerful and represents a weilder of the Power Stone's inner-most self.
And now, whoever could manage to collect all seven Power Stones can not only reopen the gateway to Avalon, but by having all seven crystals, the person will have the make a wish come true! ANY WISH!
Of course, poor Ranma did not know this. He did not realize he had come across the Red Power Stone. All his mind could rationalize was that he had just stumbled upon a fist-sized ruby!
"Holy crap!" Ranma thought in astonishment as he held up the ruby in his right hand up to his eye-level. Now, Ranma wasn't much of a gems specialist, but even he could tell that this was a pretty fine gem. He couldn't see any nicks of scratches in it when he held it up to the light. "This thing is probably near-perfect!"
However, as excited as Ranma was, he calmed down quite quickly, his honor taking over. No one just leaves a gem like this someplace open onpurpose! Someone must have lost their gem. "But how would I know who owned it?" Ranma asked himself.
Sighing, Ranma shook his head. There was no real way he could find out on his own. There was no form of identification whatsoever witth the gem. So thinking, the best Ranma could do was just hold onto the gem for awhile, and waited until someone advertised a huge gem missing.
It was then Ranma decided to pocket the 'ruby'. He'd have to keep this a secret from the others for the time being. He just knew that a few people would be after it if they knew he had it, (most definitely Nabiki and his father) and Ranma just couldn't have that!
And so, Ranma walked out of the alley and back into the Nerima streets, unaware of the power he had in his pocket...
