He would let Akane start the actual fight while he sat back in the relaxed stance he usually maintained when fighting grunts and other low-level types - The Willow Bends With The Breeze.
He would avoid all her attacks, then lightly tap her in the forehead, signifying a kill.
Akane wouldn't get hurt, he would demonstrate that he DID know what he was doing, and he could start teaching her a few things once his superiority in the Art was clearly understood.
Since there was no gender-confusion on anyone's part, and this was all a FRIENDLY spar, there was no reason for anyone to conclude anything regarding perverts or fiancees or anything of the sort. Right? Right!
That was the plan at least.
Ranma flowed like water as Akane opened with a quick jab, then a punch-step-kick combo. It had been so long since he fought anyone who might be considered a NORMAL martial artist that it was almost tempting to get out a book and start reading it while doing this spar.
But that would probably irritate the heck out of Akane, and he was trying to be nice about this.
There was a burst of cold air, and Ranma glanced to the side. Akitsu had gone from sitting on the sidelines to partially come to her feet and had one hand extended.
Ranma instantly moved to stand in front of the busty girl. "No, Akitsu. This is a spar. It's just a friendly fight between two people. Don't interrupt."
Akane blinked, looking at where Ranma was now and then back to where he'd been a moment ago. Had she blinked? Had he teleported? "Shunshin?"
"Hmmm?" asked Ranma, glancing back at her.
"That was the instant movement - rapid step technique, wasn't it?" asked Akane. "I remember Bruce Lee was supposed to have mastered that technique."
"Yeah, something like that," admitted Ranma, making a casual leap backwards to put himself back in the same place he'd previously been in.
"Okay, now I'm serious," said Akane, getting back into a basic attack stance.
"Good," said Ranma, returning to his own stance.
"Aren't you going to attack?" asked Akane. "What kind of martial arts stance is that?"
"Willow Bends With The Breeze," said Ranma, looking as if he was just standing in a relaxed posture. "It's a basic of the Saotome School."
"How can you attack with your hands behind your back?" asked Akane, still irritated but now trying to analyze the stance.
"You don't," answered Ranma. "Ya do this to avoid gettin' hit."
"Well, let's see you avoid THIS!" declared Akane, charging forward, then pivoting on her lead foot to bring a circle kick around and...
and stare for a moment at the ceiling.
WHAT?!
"You knocked her down with air pressure?" asked Nabiki.
"Well, if I'd connected, that might'a hurt her."
"Was that cracking sound the back wall?" asked Nabiki.
Akane brought herself up to her feet, noting the boy had partially turned his back to her in order to make a gesture at one of the walls and say something to her father.
She didn't intend to actually hit him like that, more like reprimand him for inattention.
As she went forward though, she became aware of the temperature dropping rather quickly. As she completed one step and her hand came out, it went from "a wet but warm spring day" to "welcome to the new Ice Age" without significant warning.
"Oh, you're a yuki-onna?" asked Kasumi, addressing Akitsu who was just standing there with one hand partly outstretched towards Akane.
"Sekirei," answered Akitsu.
"Akitsu, are we gonna have to talk about 'secrets' some more?" asked Ranma, going up to the ice pillar containing a wildly blinking Akane. One finger came stabbing out to strike the ice prison.
CRAK
The two halves of the ice pillar fell away, leaving Akane in the center.
"C-c-c-cold!" pronounced Akane, teeth chattering and clutching herself.
"The bath should be hot, maybe you should get a good soak," said Kasumi.
"Th-th-that s-sounds like a g-g-good id-d-ea," chattered Akane.
Ranma went up to the wall and checked it. Odd, he hadn't remembered the dojo walls being this flimsy.
