"Ow, ow, ow, ow..." Rei groaned as she walked up the steps. Just moving was causing pain too literall shoot through her arms. Rei made a mental vow that she would never wear any silver jewelry again.
Yuuchirou, who happened to be racking the leaves, saw Rei coming up the temple steps. He noticed the bandages on her arms immediately. "Oh, Rei! Are you okay? What happened?"
"Oh! Well, you see..." Rei began. After a moment, she remembered that Yuuchirou knew of her heritage. She had her grandfather to thank for that. So what harm would telling him partial truth do? "I had an accident with some silver... Cooking with fire and silver is quite a hazard for a were..."
"Silver burns!?" Yuuchirou asked in alarm. He then literally grabbed Rei's arm. He began to unwrap the bandage.
"HEY!" Rei protested. "Why the hell was be doing that?" Rei wasn't as mad as she thought she'd be though. She was more surprised. He had such a light touch.
After unwrapping the bandage, Yuuchirou studied the burn. "Hmm... This is bad... I'd say that from the way this is marred numerous times, this was from repeated exposure to silver," Taking a closer look, he then added, "But with the intensity of some of these burns, some of them were prolonged exposure."
Rei blinked. "How could you tell? I didn't knew you so much about burns."
Yuuchirou shrugged. "Seen a whole bunch of silver burns in my time." He blinked his eyes. "Wait here, I'll be right back." And with that, Yuuchirou ran off back to the temple.
Standing there, Rei wondered still how Yuuchirou knew how to read the burns she recieved. And what did he mean by that when he said he'd seen them before? Where would he see a lot of silver burns?
After a moment, Yuuchirou came back out of the temple, carrying what looked like a first-aid kit. Placing teh small box one the ground near her, Rei opened it and began to rummage through it. He pulled out a cloth and a bottle with a salve.
"What is that?" Rei asked, indicating the bottle.
"This is a medicine that helps with silver burns." Yuuchirou said as he applied some to the cloth. "It may sting at first when I first apply it, but it will feel better after."
Rei watched as Yuuchirou lightly, but firmly held the medicine onto her arm. She winced as she felt a burning pain once more, but slowly, the pain wore down.
Seeing Rei's expression chance to a clamer on, Yuuchiro began to rub the cloth against the wound. "This will help negate the damage done by silver and speed up your own natural healing." He explained. After a moment he then removed the cloth. Taking out a roll of bandage from the kit, Yuuchirou began to dress her wounds. He then repeated this process with her other arm, undressing it, applying medicine, and covering it again.
Rei flexed her arms as she looked them over. The amount of relief she felt in her arms was amazing to her. "Wow... I really do feel better." She looked at Yuuchirou. "And the application of the bandages aren't bad either. How did you know how to do this?"
Yuuchirou gave Rei a slick smile. "Let's just say, I've helped a lot of weres in my time." Yuuchirou slicked his hair back to reveal his eyes, which were slightly slitted, and pointed ears.
Rei blinked. "YOU'RE A LYCANTHROPE TOO!?"
"Kinda..." Yuuchirou said. Rei blinked as she saw a flash of three fox-like tails from behind Yuuchirou. They were gone as soon as they had aappeared. "Well, I better get back to racking." And Yuuchirou began doing just that, leaving a stunned Rei to wacth.
"... He's a Kitsune?" Rei thought.
