"Finding out what this stuff really does, if it affects us outside this game interface thing," mused Sakura. "Click Yes so that it lets you spend points."
"Okay," said Naruto, poking at the screen.
"Okay, see those plus signs and minus signs?" asked Sakura. "Click once on Hand Seals. Okay, that spent half a point. Click it again."
"Okay, I don't feel different," noted Naruto.
"That's because there's a 'Save' button, nothing goes into effect until you accept the changes," said Sakura. "That's IF this affects you in real life. Now the Intelligence score. Hit that one three times."
"Is 'one' bad then?" asked Naruto. "Three and a half points left."
"I see it," said Sakura, leaning close to Naruto in order to see the screen better. "Chakra Control. Hit that three times too."
"Two points left," said Naruto, completely distracted by how close Sakura was.
"Put one half point in Strength and one half point in Speed," suggested Sakura. "Then hit the Save button to apply and see if anything happens."
"Okay, and done," said Naruto.

"Ouch," said Naruto.
"He grew an inch," noted Kakashi.

"I'm gonna need new clothes," said Naruto. "These are a little tight."
"They'll stretch," said Kakashi. "It's typical of ninja clothing that it'll stretch out some."
Music began to play from the device.
"Another 'random encounter'?" asked Naruto.
"WHAT?!" asked Sakura, staring at the device.
"aaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" CRASH! "ouch."
"Uhm, yes?" tried Naruto, trying to see what had landed in the brush.
Poof! Paff!
"Wha? Nooooooooooooooo!" CRASH! "Ow."
"Naruto," began Sakura.
"Yes?" tried Naruto.
Poof! Paff!
"Not againnnnnnnnnn!" said the girl, falling directly in front of them.
Naruto managed to catch her.
"Ow," said the bundled up girl.
"You okay?" asked Naruto.
"I'm... NARUTO?!"
"No, I'm Naruto," said Naruto. "You're Hinata from the Academy, right?"
Faint!
Sakura read the device that Naruto had dropped. "It says here that it's rebooting to fix the problem."
"Oh," said Naruto.
Rin sighed and pointed. "Lay her out over there so I can check her out."
"You can open your eyes now."
"Eh?" Hinata blinked.
The girl, a chunin from her vest, was sitting nearby. "You were unconscious for less than a minute and faking it, trying to figure out where you were and what was going on."
"Ah," said Hinata.
"You're a Hyuga so you should use your Byakugan to verify this isn't a genjutsu," suggested the chunin. "I'm Rin Nohara, Konohagakure Medic."
Hinata sat up and went through the handseals, seeing the chunin's point. "Byakugan!"
"It's still restarting!" said Naruto from where he was sitting. "Still says 'Now Loading Character Database' - but it says 'seventy five percent' now."
"How many characters are in there?!" asked Sakura.
"That box has a chakra network?" asked Hinata.
"Magical construct," said Rin.
"Uhm, what's going on?" asked Hinata, letting her Byakugan drop as there was nothing like a genjutsu she could see.
"Ah," said Rin. "That's a long story." She raised her voice a bit. "Naruto, what's it at now?"
"'Seventy five point four percent'," read off Naruto.
Rin nodded. "Okay. Here's what I understand of this situation."
They made the "unison sign" and then crossed so that they were facing each other over the width of the road.
"Uhm, begin I guess," said Kakashi.
The two stared at each other, apparently waiting for the other to make a move.
"Timer's moving," pointed out Sasuke.
"Right! Here goes!" yelled Naruto, charging forward.
"AHHHH!" yelled Hinata, striking out.
"This is pathetic," noted Sasuke. "Naruto. Tag out and switch with me."
"Eh?" asked Naruto.
"She just hit you in the chest with a palmstrike," noted Sakura. "If this was for real, you'd be dead."
"I'm sorry," apologized Hinata.
"I hardly felt that," said Naruto.
"It's her family style, the 'Gentle Fist' - a single strike can kill or block off chakra," said Sakura.
"Oh," said Naruto. "Well, in that case. Pikachu! Thundershock!"
"Eh?" asked Hinata as something popped into existence and then hit her with a large bolt of lightning. She went down.
"You okay?" asked Naruto.
"Owie," said Hinata. "I give."
"Cool!" said Naruto, going up to Hinata and offering her a hand up.
"She threw the fight," said Sasuke in a low volume.
"I don't know, I think the cuteness factor of the pikachu in a little Naruto costume was what did it," said Sakura as she matched Sasuke's volume.
"Wha-what?!" squeaked Hinata.
"Should have turned off the option for party members to hear the announcements," mumbled Kakashi.
"Oh well I-" POOF!
"She's gone," noted Naruto.
"Well, yeah, timer reached 'zero'," pointed out Sakura.
"I wonder how she'll explain this when she gets home?" asked Naruto.
