Mischief Fragment Shippuden: The Cheering Continues [Episode 258997]

by Sapphire Cat

Carefully prepared, formed into optimal groups with the right proportions of advantages and enhancements, the orcs would have fared far better.

Caught by surprise, they were being destroyed like stalks of dry wheat before a grassfire.

The Alliance were circling at extreme range to cheer it on.

The flaming ruins of the orc's greatest city shone brightly on the horizon. To the shock of all, the Kyubi was as much a being of spiritual energy as physical, and as the spirits of the slain horde raced back to their bodies, he ate their souls as well. Shamans able to self-resurrect and Warlocks with their soul stones rose amidst the ruins and simply got annihilated again, then their souls devoured so they could never raise again.

After that, things got very quiet in Ogrimmar.

Jiraiya watched the distant destruction with stern and solumn countenance. Most of the Alliance forces who'd been with them on this rescue had stopped at what they felt to be a safe distance to watch the show. The Toad Sage felt this was insane.

A Kyubi attack was not a spectator event.

His caution proved wise a few moments later when he caught a shift in the pattern of motion. "We'd best get ready to move," he told his escort. "It's nearly done consuming the dead. Once it catches the last few, we'd best be out of the area completely."

"No Dude!" some tattooed dark elf disregarded his statement. "This is so L337! 1 4// 901||9 70 571(k 4R0U||D 4||D //47(|-| 7|-|15!"

"This is delicate work and can't be interrupted," said the priestess, who was just regrowing Naruto's second limb, having first regenerated his right arm, then his tongue.

Naruto, for his part, was just watching the distant destruction wearing a glazed expression. He hadn't seemed to react yet to having his parts restored.

Jiraiya had seen that sort of look on ninja before. Oddly enough, he'd last seen it right about the time of the last Kyubi attack. The sage sent another concerned glance towards the distant destruction, before he ordered, "Finish the arm, then be prepared to move - unless you can heal during a battle, because one is about to come to us."

The priestess sent him a concerned glance before she bent back to redouble her healing.

The motion came sooner than he'd thought.

While beside him the Alliance kept cheerng as yet another orc raid got consumed, the Toad Sage bent to his summoning.

It was time he patch things up with Gamabunta, or they could both lose Naruto.

Jiraiya's concern did manage to accomplish one thing. He'd gotten the majority of the Allaince forces-turned cheering section to fall back until they were just beyond the next available large, orcish settlement.

Then the Kyubi hit it and the whoops and hollars as the Alliance cheered it on almost drowned out the sounds of destruction.

The sage's face was grim as he assessed the battle. While these orcs did not have what he considered to be a wide variety of jutsu, they were powerful enough. Also more and more horde forces had been materializing or riding up, and now they had hundreds concentrating a withering volume of fire on the Kyubi.

And just like when it had battled ninja, most of that was having exactly zero effect on the nine-tails.

He started to go into sage mode.

When the latest surge of horde troops learned they weren't just a short trip from the graveyard from getting rezzed they broke and ran in every direction.

Most of them ran directly towards the Alliance forces, hoping to get behind them so the cheering section would be forced to take that nightmare creature on. Alerted by this, at least some of the Alliance forces began to get ready, forming back up into those groups that had intended to break into Ogrimmar, restoring buff spells and readying weapons.

Some of them even stopped dancing.
