Her so-called 'master' had been a fool and a coward, but it was his refusal to allow her more prana than he himself had that looked to assure her demise before any of the other Servants were even summoned.
Still, better that than to suffer the indignity of being Caster while limited to the prana reserves of what this 'modern age' considered to be an 'average' magus. As if they could've hoped to avoid the other Servants until the end.
Not completely impossible. She'd detected at least three young children who were considerably stronger than the average magus. Still, it was stupid too expect that they'd be able to hide from everyone else.
More likely, they'd've been among the first to fall. And even if not so, any Servants to survive that long would probably be dangerously powerful.
Besides, that strategy had already been successfully followed in one of the first Grail Wars, and been rejected by the Grail itself. Active participation by both Master and Servant was required.
Now, she was free but lacking in both an anchor in this era and a source of prana to sustain her existence. There weren't even any people around who she could drain for sustenance. Assuming that she actually had the strength to do so.
