Naruto was destined to be a hero and singularly unequipped for it - to the extent that the universe itself had noticed and come to correct the problem. Okay, that indicated that something was fundamentally wrong with the universe in that Naruto was a "hero" but also that Naruto actually mattered to anyone.
Of course, it could have been that one or more herbs used in the breakfast meal at that temple was producing some weird hallucination.
Now Naruto had some Wood Release and Ice Release potential abilities. Which could be very good and give this team all sorts of benefits - leading to Sasuke Uchiha getting stronger and meeting one or more of his goals in the future.
He'd wished he'd had his Sharingan going. Some of those techniques he'd seen in that brief vision would have made reaching those goals a LOT easier.
Now the potential weak link of Sakura had been addressed. She was, alas, still pink.
In fact, she was VERY pink. Not counting her new outfit which consisted of an undershirt, open vest, leggings, her forehead protector as a hairband, and ninja sandals. Her clothes were fairly loose in case she had to go to her enhanced state.
Which she'd had for a few minutes before trying to and shifting back. Looking UP at Sakura, nearly six inches taller than in her human form, had been odd.
Also a pink panther. There was just something fundamentally wrong with that as well.
So she'd shifted back to "human" form. Other than some pinkish markings around her eyes, her ears being something more animal-like, and some freckles (also pink) on her skin - she looked mostly normal.
"I still think that 'weretiger' thing was cool," complained Naruto.
"You weren't the one facing the problem of being orange," said Sakura, reading the book.
"But orange is cool..."
Sasuke glanced again at the book, rather than hear a replay of THAT argument. What looked to be a children's book, titled "So I'm A Werepanther?" Which apparently had details of the new bloodline that Sakura possessed. Sasuke had glanced at it earlier, and had seen most of it was written in the style of a storybook for VERY young children. Except that the last three pages dealt with things like DNA, RNA, tellomeres, and other things he'd never heard of.
"So anything interesting in there?" asked Tazuna as they walked along. "That you can tell someone without it being ninja secrets or something?"
Sasuke didn't say anything, merely considered that it was perfectly natural. One normally didn't meet reality-altering self-proclaimed gods. One normally didn't hear of individuals whose destiny could literally shape the world. Even if one WAS a ninja. Probably even less likely if one was a non-ninja bridge builder from a ruined nation like Wave. Of course, the bridge builder was curious. And probably planning on getting so drunk he couldn't move as soon as he was near a ready supply of alcohol.
"In human form like now, I only heal slightly faster and am just a little bit faster than I was," answered Sakura absently. "My hearing is more sensitive but not by much. The hybrid form is more powerful but has weaknesses."
"Weaknesses?" asked Tazuna.
Sakura frowned as she flipped back and checked things. "In hybrid or animal forms, I've got allergies to certain plants and metals. I heal faster, but that can be thrown off by those particulars. I'll have to brief Kakashi-sensei on those, and how to overcome the problems they can cause."
"Otherwise sometime you'd be incapacitated and unable to deal with them yourself?" guessed Kakashi.
"Yeah, apparently it can be pretty severe," noted Sakura. "On the other hand, most wounds can be recovered from eventually. Huh. Apparently I'm detail-oriented but I'll need to train to make the most use of the enhanced senses."
"Hn," indicated Sasuke aloud.
"Me too," indicated Naruto, pointing a hand at the underbrush. "I got these things but I don't know how to use 'em."
"True, I think I've got a few things to train you on... hold on," said Kakashi as he looked down the road.
