Ranma winced as he made hard contact with the ground, choosing to lay there while he waited patiently for the world to stop spinning around him. The very last thing he remembered doing was walking through the door at the Tendo's, having just arrived after making his way back from school. The problem was though, was that he clearly remembered stepping inside before somehow winding up laying on the ground outside in some field. “Well, I'm fairly sure this is a field considering the grass is all overgrown. Unless I somehow got malleted out through the back door and into one of Kasumi's flowerbeds. Not unlikely but this sure doesn't smell like the back yard. It's more naturely... like the middle of the woods.”
Having kept his eyes closed for the assessment the pigtailed martial artist slowly cranked one eye open to confirm his earlier speculation. Realizing that he was indeed somehow in the middle of a forest laying down in a patch of overrun grass the teen started the long task of picking himself off the ground. Normally the act in itself was unchallenging for someone of his caliber but at the moment he was still trying to subdue the vertigo and exhaustion that had claimed him the moment he had impacted the ground.
Just when he had almost managed to rise to his knee's Ranma was forced back down into the ground as another body fell right down onto of him. Hearing a feminine groan that sounded suspiciously like Nabiki the pigtailed teen paled and opted to just lay there with the hopes that the middle Tendo would forget about him if he acted like he was passed out.
“Saotome... I know your awake, I felt you move...” Nabiki groaned out painfully as she debated trying to roll off of her current bed solely consisting of one pig tailed sometimes female martial artist.
Frozen with indecisive on whether or not he should reply or just simply move, Ranma chose to just lay there and wait and see. After all it was a valid strategy in his life as more often than not any action often resulted in some sort of misunderstanding with the added benefit of pain on more than one occasion.
“I swear Saotome, this has to be your fault somehow... Why else would I get sucked into some glowy portal that sprang up the moment you stepped through the front door.”
“A glowing portal... damn of all the days to not just hop over the wall and head right to the dojo.” Ranma mused to himself now that he had recovered from both his fall and the collision from Nabiki landing onto of him.
Seeing that her pigtailed landing spot was still unmoving despite knowing that he was awake the middle Tendo rolled off to the side with a groan of irritation, “Don't be ignoring me when I talk to you, unless you want my dear little sister to cook all your meals for the next week.”
“Uhm, did ya say something Nabiki?” Ranma commented from his feet, the threat of Akane's cooking having revitalized him almost immediately.
“Yes I did, and I'm fine thank you very much.”
“Rats...” Ranma thought to himself, “At least if she were hurt then there might be a chance of her being grateful that I'm here and hopefully forget about her threat.” “That's good to hear, I'm no sure what I would do if you were hurt.” “Probably a back flip or two... Maybe a fist pump... It's not like I'm still mad about her part in the failed wedding or even the fact that she decided to stick me with a large part of the bill.”
“So where in the hell are we?”
“Got me...” Ranma muttered with a shrug as he looked around, “But wherever we are we should probably get moving somewhere real quick.”
“Yeah why's that?” Nabiki asked as she sat up and put her arms across her chest in a huff.
“Cause...”
