Ranma was up to date on the rules since she used the rulebook as a reference. It had a sleeve in the back for storing cards and the page by the sleeve was a mobile version of the stats page. Since the stats showed the rank, suit and name of each card in her possession, it made playing without showing her cards a lot easier.
As a result of knowing the rules so well, Ranma wasn’t rushing to find a loophole. The joker could simply be discarded as the free discard at the end, she just had to hope she didn’t end up with another joker.
Ranma busied herself with helping the others instead, which had the bonus of distracting her from her own troubles. “You girls gonna do any trades?”
Judging by their expressions, it seemed most were too embarrassed to share.
Curious about other things, Ranma decided to see just what was going to happen after this intermission. Ranma went to the intermission screen being projected onto the floor, kneeling down to read the text. Some sort of bonus round, then a break with round five starting some unknown time later? Definitely needed to handle any troublesome cards right now then.
Standing up, Ranma reaffirmed her determination since it was a guy’s duty to protect girls, even if she apparently didn’t count as a guy anymore. Like she cared. “Okay, how about this, I’ll come around, you show me the cards you’d like to get rid of, and I’ll see if I can get you a trade?”
Ranma started with Akane simply because she was nearby already. “So how about it?”
Blushing madly, the bottom heavy trap showed Ranma her cards, pushing the Three of Spades up. “I don’t like any of them, but especially that one.”
Raama nodded, moving along. “Gotcha. What about you Ucchan?”
Ukyou considered her cards, but none of them were particularly bad. At least not enough to be worth showing Ranma her Lady O My! card. She did show her Mature card for a different reason. “Do you mind this card? Does it make me look strange?”
Ranma glanced down at the girl that usually attended school as a reverse trap. Currently she was wearing a nice dress, was tastefully made-up and sporting a very curvaceous body. “No, you look good. It doesn’t make you look old, just more mature.”
Happy with the reply, Ukyou nodded pleasantly, hoping she’d get to enjoy some of her changes later. “Okay, I’m good Ranchan.”
Moving around, Kodachi made their encounter brief, showing her Kodomo card. “This one is bothersome, mostly for how it has altered my outfit.”
Ranma nodded, moving along. “Gotcha.”
The red-head paused at her spot between Kasumi and Shanpu, checking on both at once. Neither seemed to have cards they disliked. There was also Nabiki, but she didn’t care for her attitude. “Shanpu, would you trade your Long Legs card for Akane’s manhood card?”
Shanpu frowned for the first time since getting rid of her Hourglass card. “Why Shanpu do that?”
Ranma considered it a fair question. “You have a deuce, so you can cancel it, also you have a womanhood card, so you’d keep your girl parts anyways. Akane doesn’t have any wild cards and it takes away her girl parts too since she doesn’t have a womanhood card.”
The violet haired girl pouted. “Shanpu like her card, why help violent girl?”
Despite the violet-haired girl’s refusal, it was clear from her tone that she was really asking for a reason why she should make such a trade. An incentive to make it tempting.
