Shampoo seemed nervous, but more at ease than she'd ever seen her. Akane realized that previously, even when she'd seen Shampoo apparently completely at ease, there had been subtle tension of muscles. Shampoo looked like...
...someone whose death sentence had just been revoked. Oh dear.
Akane continued looking around.
Cologne was giving Kasumi a recipe, which her sister was writing down with the occasional question to clarify this or that point. Akane overheard a remark where Kasumi - if she wanted - could work part-time at the cafe. Apparently a backup cook would be good.
Ranma, male again, looked uncertain and a bit scared. Well, Akane could get behind that.
Nabiki was sampling this or that bit of food and looking enormously pleased.
Her father was also uncertain but beginning to smile at something Uncle Saotome was saying.
How to fight this?
She needed to talk to someone, but who?
Ranma? Ranma had no clue and no control over his mouth.
The fathers? They had just decided to be happy about this and start planning the wedding.
"Akane? Akane?"
Akane blinked and looked at Shampoo.
"We start train tomorrow, five in morning. Is bestest time for training," said Shampoo. "Is good, yes?"
"Uhm," said Akane, trying to figure out how to check with Nabiki. Could she trust Nabiki?
