"The 'Head Map' kekkei genkai allowed the wielder to know the area around them exceedingly well. Knowing where every trap was placed, every animal or enemy as it moved within the range, and where he could move to escape an attack. It was very rare, but the elderly ninja who had mastered it was only caught by area-effect attacks that he lacked the speed to avoid. Much more detail I lack - as my ability to sense outside my prison is limited. Though I seem to have enough time to ponder over what I do manage to sense in order to make sense of such."
"First wish is for the Kyubi to be nicer to Naruto OR for a way home if one isn't provided," summed up Sasuke. "Second wish is for Sakura to be removed from that seal and the Kyubi to go back in there."
The Kyubi opened one eye and decided to add his own two ryo. "Can you upgrade it from a sewer when you do that? Just saying - if you want me to be 'nicer' it should go both ways."
"He does have a point," admitted Sasuke. "However we only get three wishes."
"Okay," said Naruto. "I think I got it."
"Time's up," rumbled the Being as it faded into not-quite-there existence. "Three wishes you have. No refunds, exchanges, substitutions. Warranties are neither implied or existent. Your mileage may vary. No run-on wishes with multiple conditions and I reserve the right to grant all three in a way that amuses me. Keeping in mind that the whole event is to give the Child Of Prophesy a better chance of survival."
"Fine," said Naruto, looking over the scroll again, then nodding. "I wish this."
"Wish what?" asked the Being.
"This stuff here on the scroll," said Naruto, pointing at the scroll in question. "The one I'm pointing at."
"The 'or' condition is whether or not you'll return us at the end of this to Konoha," put in Sasuke.
"Got it, and yes. At the end of this process you will all return to the village of Konohagakure within eight hours of your departure."
Kurama opened an eye and snorted.
"The same with swapping Kurama and Sakura. As the purpose of doing this is to increase Naruto's chance of survival against the enemies he will attract - including your elder brother - having Sakura sealed inside him with Kurama turned into your team kunoichi would be counter-productive. Unless, of course, you wanted to make that wish."
"No, just this one. The Kyubi be nicer to me," stated Naruto.
"Fine," said the Being. "Your second wish - the ability to form the Head Map kekkei genkai. You do realize that just because he could sense something doesn't give him the ability to automatically avoid or identify such things? That the ability requires study and experience to properly interpret the extra information that it gives - and the ability was insufficient to keep the clan originally with it from going extinct?"
"Good point," admitted Naruto.
"Admittedly, there are a lot of kekkei genkai whose clans are now extinct, some of which were specifically targeted because of those very gifts."
"I see," said Sasuke, familiar with the concept. "What would you have suggested?"
"Me?"
"You're talking about bringing back a kekkei genkai that was lost, what kind would you have taken if you were Naruto?" asked Sasuke.
"Probably something like this."
"SASUKE!" yelled Naruto over the sounds of the storm raging around them. "THEY'RE COMING!"
"I SEE THAT!" yelled back Sasuke, barely being able to make himself heard over the downpouring rain. "GRAB HER AND LET'S GO!"
"RIGHT!" yelled back Naruto, picking up the girl and slinging her over one shoulder. He turned to run and disappeared.
"What was that?" asked Sasuke, trying to clear figure out the details from his brief vision.
"Another universe. One where the sons of Kaguya didn't go the ninja route but intead took three different paths. Samurai, onmyoji, and monks. Instead of Hidden Villages, you have Fortress-Cities and Castles and Keeps. Naruto's kekkei genkai in that particular one is related to speed. By charging his body with chakra, his speed ramps up to the point where he can strike a hundred times in a single second."
"That sounds like it'd be really weird," noted Naruto. "Who was that girl we was rescuing?"
"Princess Shion of the Demon Labyrinth. Oh. Before I forget."
There was a red blur and then a pink blur as the Kyubi went back into the seal and Sakura was pulled out.
"I knew boys have dirty minds, but that was ridiculous," said Sakura. "I need a bath. Uhm. What's going on?"
"Naruto's wishes," said Sasuke. "Next one."
"Yeah yeah, I'm going with this," said Naruto, pointing to the second wish.
"Fine," rumbled the Being. "I might have to tie things together a bit and retcon. What's your third wish?"
Naruto read off the third wish that had been written on the scroll that he had hashed out with a strangely cooperative Sasuke.
Though if he'd realized that Sasuke was being so helpful because he wanted to not be held back by Naruto being incompetent, he might have understood that. And probably the whole thing would have devolved into a heated argument.
