I flex my hand, clenching and unclenching it. I am aware of the artificial muscles under the thin armor, of the spun metal fibers comprising a form of tissue between muscle and armor, of the carbon-metal composite that forms the skeletal structure under it all.

I wonder briefly at the data this gives me. I can determine the air temperature and pressure and humidity. I can determine the amount of pressure that hand exerts, crushing the egg I was attempting to lift with an unintended casual violence.

The therapist cleans off the remains of the egg, and carefully hands me another. She wipes the fear from her face, leaving just the curiosity.

Turning my attention elsewhere for a moment, I can tell the state of the various systems active within myself. These 'biosystems' are similar to the original organs, designed to fulfill the same function and only different in the materials used to construct them. Except I am also aware that the kidneys can scan and recognize poisons and flush them from my system. Except that I am also aware of similar structures in the lungs and in the intestinal tract.

The reinforcement of my bones was done with material that is designed to be absorbed by those bones. That this way the reinforcement will grow when the bones grow. I am aware of this in a way that is both strange and wondrous.

I am also aware that the young boy is nearby and that he is exhausted. I have determined that he is excited and concerned and that he cares in a way that I have never known. The use of terms by the boy indicates that the familiarity with me caused by a week of work on my injuries has given him a sense of "family" towards me. Specifically he views me as a surrogate elder sister.

I have decided to allow it. Neither of us has any surviving family. This is odd, but comforting somehow.

There was a moment, where he fell asleep in the chair at my bedside, where I could have killed him. I had heard him referred to as a demon, and one of my sensei had made a reference to having killed my parents. Yet that image is difficult to reconcile with the overjoyed child when it was determined that I was alive and functional.

No. It is not difficult to reconcile. It is impossible to reconcile. A monster or demon would not experience such joy at finding someone had been saved through his efforts.

This young boy is Naruto Uzumaki. A very curious child.

This time I am more careful in the handling of the egg. It is difficult, but as I do such things I am better at judging the amount of force involved. Too little and it slips from my grasp. Too much and it shatters.

The new limbs are similar to the old ones, but require that I learn to use them as from the beginning. The process is monitored and will be used to speed up similar operations in the future as needed.

I am also aware that one of the physicians present was under a henge and likely not supposed to be there. I am uncertain as to the reason for collecting tissue samples.

I continue to observe.
