Mischief Fragment - Wishcraft: Sorted Out [Episode 264344]

"I thought we were going with recreating the synergy of the Ino-Shika-Cho trio." Suzume frowned at the paperwork. It just didn't seem much like a ninja lifestyle - filling out enough paperwork to deforest some small countries.

"No, that psych profiling came back with some red flags. It would be worse if you tried to put Ino Yamanaka and Sakura Haruno on Sasuke's team, but only by ten points." Iruka sighed at the most recent addition. Form 247-A (Psychological Evaluation Of Teamwork Potential in Academy Graduates) was fairly simple in design. It was just that it was a headache-generator otherwise.

"So how about we put Team 8 under Kurenai Yuhi as an all-kunoichi squad. There was one under the Nidaime that worked pretty well up until the Battle Of Beggar's Pass."

"You can't hold that one against that team. It was a disaster for everyone involved. Hmmm. Right. Worth a shot. We need more genin teams anyway." Suzume frowned as she checked another form and evaluated it against the list.

"What we really need are more chunin - that's where the bulk of actual work gets done. Still, if it gives them a better chance of surviving to that point." Iruka jotted some details down when he remembered them.

"One step at a time," said Suzume.

"Team 7. Kakashi Hatake as jonin. Sasuke Uchiha, Tobio, and Kagerou."

Sasuke frowned slightly as Tobio was a bit of a wimp. No particular skills and overly talkative. Kagerou was quiet but had a bit of a crazy look to her every so often.

"Team 8. Kurenai Yuhi as jonin. Ino Yamanaka, Sakura Haruno, and Hinata Hyuga."

Two loud protests, one quiet one. All ignored by everyone not involved directly.

"Team 9 is still in use. Team 10 under Asuma Sarutobi is Naruto Uzumaki, Shikamaru Nara, and Choji Akimichi."

Though he'd prefer not to dwell on things or overthink situations, Shikamaru was curious. He had been relatively certain that there would be a 2nd Generation of the Ino-Shika-Cho trio. It would also allow them to go with the traditional two boys + one girl team that practically ALL the villages used for versatility in the field.

The patterns had been broken. Why?

Choji. Solid. Dependable. With his Akimichi clan techniques and his natural talent, he was pretty good with taijutsu and physically pretty strong. No surprises there.

Naruto. Unpredictable. Tricky. Sensor ability of some sort. Prior to this it had been entirely too much trouble to figure out. Now though he went over various times he'd seen the ability go into action. It didn't seem to depend on chakra or intent. A dropped bucket from a janitor cleaning the roof had been neatly avoided just over a month ago.

He couldn't think of a reason for Naruto to be placed on their team unless it was that sensor ability. For some reason the higher-ups had decided that they needed a sensor on their team? Which probably meant going on higher-risk missions which would be a serious drag.

Well, he was probably lacking some bit of data anyway.
