Mischief Fragment - Wishcraft: Gladiator Sorcerer [Episode 264355]

Lord Shivak had many other concerns, but noted the progress of the children on a near-daily basis.

Sasuke Uchiha had initially been thought a Rogue. After some clerical examination, it was decided he was Rogue/Monk somehow. Apparently quite talented and taking to the training with a commendable work ethic when it was explained what his role was. Agility and speed were things to be brought up, some exotic weapons training, but mainly those skills that would play well in the Arena and afterwards. The last mainly as incentive to do well in the Arena. The scarred veteran of the streets, Dirac Higgs was a Rogue who worked the Arena for coin and challenge. Training up Sasuke was just another job for Higgs, who'd had some minor Monk training in his youth until he'd been thrown out of that monastery. More thorough training was pending finding a suitable trainer.

Sakura Haruno had been harder to place, but the cleric of Bastet had come through for them. However, what she had indicated was that the pink-haired girl would be better off with another tutor altogether.

Naruto Uzumaki though. According to the cleric of Pharasma, a Child of Destiny. Lord Shivak had considered throwing the three out onto the street as soon as THAT particular tidbit had come to light. People with a Destiny with a capital D were the sort one wanted to steer clear of as things got untidy around them. Lord Shivak LIKED things neat and tidy and profitable.

A Sorcerer with a Destiny. Learned Mending from a scroll and then been able to cast it twice thereafter. Also a Chosen of Shelyn, the goddess of love and luck and travels. To the surprise of the cleric of Shelyn, there had been a Manifestation and blessing involved.

So, not only a Destiny - an EPIC Destiny. Yeah, as soon as he'd shown a profit off the three Lord Shivak promised himself he'd be sending them far far away where some Epic Destiny couldn't complicate his life more than necessary. Though if the three managed to become great heroes he could always then put out the word that their careers had started out with his arena. Advertising such things could bring in more revenue.

Though the boy might benefit from some Monk training too. Seemed the type to wade into the heart of a fight. Maybe he could get one of those Paladin types?

THAT thought caused Lord Shivak to mildly swear. Epic Destiny, Paladin, Chosen - what god had he offended? He'd have to put out a few offerings and try to buy off whatever Fate was heading his way.

"Have someone check and see if that boy Naruto is actually a Paladin," said Lord Shivak to one of his clerks. "Has the girl been tested more thoroughly?"

"Yes, milord," said one of the clerks. "She has tested positive in fact. Cleric of Sarenrae, though she could study the Barbarian path, or go Rogue."

"Go with Sarenrae," advised Lord Shivak. "Always popular with the crowd as Sarenrae has supporters nearly everywhere. Barbarians are common, and frankly she's tiny where everyone wants their savage warrior types to be big and fierce looking. Having her study under a Rogue makes sense as well. Go with training her to dodge and avoid taking hits."

"Might I suggest she train under Mithon then?" asked the clerk. "She has that Whip Of Pain after all. It does very little damage, but when it hits -"

"Excellent, yes, Mithon will do nicely," agreed Lord Shivak. "The Mistress Of Pain And Pleasure (as she's billed when she has a match at least) isn't doing too much lately due to her pregnancy. Helping to train a replacement act would work well. Is she slowed down a bit by her condition though?"

"Not by much," admitted the clerk.

"Perfect then," said Lord Shivak. "Pity the girl is so young though. Getting Mithon to do her wardrobe would add a bit of that primal savage atmosphere. Though I'm going with emphasizing that exotic traveler aspect. On that note, any luck with their wardrobe?"

"Yes," said one of the other clerks, rising from her desk, the chain connecting her collar to the desk jingling in response. "I just got the invoice on that. A supplier in the Pirate Corridor had a suitable set. They should be here within the hour."

"Good," said Lord Shivak. "Now to the more important things. Who is scheduled for later today?"

"We start with a bout between Ulf The Warrior Poet and Professor Copperpot's Beast Mark IV," said a third clerk. "Following that is a team skirmish. Recently acquired slaves from a pirate raid are being given a chance at freedom if they can win against that minotaur from last week."

"Recent acquisitions?" asked Lord Shivak. "I take it these weren't slaves prior to this?"

The clerk checked a piece of paper. "No. Village raid. Nothing nearby though."

"Good," said Shivak. After all, if they'd been paying customers prior to this - that wouldn't do at all.
