"Tia, is it?" Toltiir inquired, canting his typically-feline head to one side precisely 387 degrees and completely ignoring the various cracking noises that ensued from his spine- after all, he could get a new one anytime he liked.
"Tia. Maybe you'll figure it out, maybe you won't." A slight grin adorned the woman's face. "Maybe I'll tell you, maybe you already know. Nobody reading this will have any idea, though, which is fine enough."
The black cat considering the timelines shrugged, though the immense (tiny) nine tailed fox watching felt... somewhat less nonchalant about events. Not that it could do anything about its feelings, seeing as it was rather abruptly buried in a literal mountain of lemon sorbet.
"Fourth wall shattering aside," the cat segued, ignoring the dozen lemmings wearing overalls that tromped by to start bricking up the
"I assume you're here because you want to start.... adjusting things." That which is known as mischief watched the interloper curiously. This sort of thing was his demesne, after all, his bread and butter if you will. Rarely did any others get involved, and they usually verged on predictable when they did. He'd sustain this, though, after all, this 'Tia' was surprising, and that was worth watching.
"More or less." Tia nodded, reaching out into the aether with one hand, fingers catching in a wrinkle in reality. "Chaos is... important to me, after all, in more or less any form, no matter how large or small." She grinned again, her visible grey eye gleaming behind the lens of her glasses. "You never know what you can accomplish just by adding a little something. And that's kind of my point in being here- everything winds up being so.... big. Move a rock an inch, and someone destined for a modern-day adventure is launched off into a medievalistic faery world where they wind up having little or nothing to do with any of the events that shaped them in the primary timeline. Or a warrior becomes a complete pacifist.
"The point is," And she raised her right hand, pointing up with the index finger, "There's plenty of incredibly huge, cascading chaos all over these timelines. And there's nothing wrong with that. But nobeing seems to be paying nearly enough attention to the smaller cascades, the ones that shift things in ways that are.... less dramatic."
Toltiir considered that for a few moments, idly pawing at the end of one of the wrinkles attached to Tia's left hand, whose fingers appeared to be vanishing into nowhere just past the second knuckle as she gripped the fabric of spacetime. Somewhere, a Tenchi ceased to exist.
Tia's pinky twitched, and reality rippled again, that same Tenchi returning to existence almost before he left it, though with a craving for ham he couldn't quite explain, and a purple carrot in one of his pockets.
"So you're proposing a change that doesn't get completely out of control? Where's the fun in that?"
"Exploration. Expansion. Understanding. Freedom. Take your pick." With a grin, the short, softly built woman tucked her right hand into a pocket of her cargo vest. "For me? Exploration, and revealing the little pieces of chaos woven throughout the order of things."
"Agh! Brain freeze!" Cried a giant fox, having liberated itself by the most expedient method available, only to writhe around in strained discomfort.
And then her left hand shook without moving, and released, and things slightly reordered themselves. No new countries ensued, no complete paradigm shifts. It was still a world of Ninja, still a world with Ki that it called Chakra, gifted to it by Kaguya. No, for all that reality shook and wove, the change made was something smaller of consequence, a difference in just a few people...
