"YOU!" yelled the girl.
"You look vaguely familiar," mused Naruto out loud.
"You two know each other?" asked Jiraiya. It was kind of obvious, but he'd like the confirmation.
"Yeah," said the girl, settling into the water. "I kind of met his team six months ago."
"Six months ago?" mused Naruto.
"He's not kidding?" asked the girl. "Seriously?"
"Yeah, he's not the brightest apple in the basket," said Jiraiya.
"So, after Wave, before the Exams," said Naruto, still puzzling it out.
"Takigakure? Waterfall? Hero Water?" asked the girl. "I'm kind of insulted that I made such little impression. Hisame of Team Suien?"
"Oh!" said Naruto, snapping his fingers. "THAT! I thought you were dead."
"I'm not dead thanks to this guy," said Hisame, jerking her thumb towards Jiraiya. "I got this instead." One hand slapped a tattoo visible just above the towel that covered her breasts.
"That isn't something pervy is it?" asked Naruto.
"No," said Hisame. "It's a 'kill switch' - if I go anywhere near Takigakure it activates and will kill me."
"I was glad to work out a little trade," said Jiraiya. "They spare you, I give an advance copy of one of my masterworks, and I do a little seal that makes sure you're not a problem to them in the future. Everybody wins."
"So you're calling in the marker," said Hisame. "What do you want?"
"You're simply going to accompany us to somewhere you'd prefer going anyway," said Jiraiya. "Though you're going to wear contacts and dye your hair for the trip."
"That's all?" asked Hisame, sounding very suspicious.
"That's it," said Jiraiya. "Amegakure still has a bounty out on you. I'll still want to use you as a contact if you run into any information I can use."
"Huh," said Hisame, considering that and then shrugging. Then grabbing her towel because that had fallen off. "Beats being turned over to Ame."
"Thought you'd see it like that," said Jiraiya.
"Undercover?" asked Hisame, clearly considering Naruto. "You want me to pose as his big sister?"
"Yes to both," said Jiraiya.
"Who's looking for him?" asked Hisame.
"Best you don't know," said Jiraiya.
"Not an ex-girlfriend or something is it?" asked Hisame.
"Nope, but that might come later," said Jiraiya.
"Huh." Hisame considered Naruto a moment later before shrugging. "Well, whatever."
