With a roar, the four magical attacks converged onto a single position, the roar being enhanced by close quarters of the shrine office the five girls and one boy was in.
Curiously, a strong golden light that had a physical force like a stiff breeze halted the attacks before pushing the dissolving forces backwards.
Unable to withstand the forces inside the small building, the front of the shrine office exploded outwards, allowing the golden glow to seep out.
Idly rubbing the back of his head with one hand, Ranma pulled his glowing aura in while grinning ruefully. "Heh, well, that's different."
Working to grant Ranma's wishes, The Great Will of the Universe attempted to fulfill Ranma's hurried wish. In doing so, it did its best not to rewrite the past, as Ranma had little desire to change who he was in that manner. Also it wasn't going to just make the girl's his love-slaves, but try and find a more agreeable situation in which to work things out.
Also, Ranma's definition of fiancée was non-standard, basically meaning a female that was in his life and with which he had some sort of strong connection with. As such it had a little leeway with how to arrange things for the girls.
As such, they were remembering a few details about the newly awakened Silver Millennium figure before them just as Ranma was starting to get that same info.
Some had called him the Emperor, though that hadn't been technically correct. Other had called him the Prince of the Moon simply because he'd chosen the Moon Kingdom as a place to stay as it was a central kingdom among the old Solar System colonies.
The Senshi knew the truth because of the connection they shared with him. He was the source of their powers, just as he was the source of all life in the Solar System.
For he was Sol, incarnation of the G class golden-orange star at the center of the Solar System.
The Senshi drew their power from him, and defended him and the kingdom. In a twist of irony, he was so powerful as to have trouble defending himself, as he might attempt to smack a youma only to crack a planet in half. Where a senshi might focus power like the stream of water from a garden hose, Ranma would focus power only to find the ocean of power receding behind him, only to gather and return as a tidal wave.
That was why his outfit was a black silk Chinese tang affair adorned with golden ornamental power limiters much like Belldandy wore. In his hair alone, he had two ornaments over each ear, one curving behind his ear while another had three spikes sticking out and up. Yet another ornament resided at the base of his pig-tail, a final one restrained the braid at the loose end.
As they realized this, the four outers were suddenly very aware of why their attacks had fizzled under the mere pressure of Sol bringing his aura forth.
When he frowned and they suddenly flickered before returning to their civilian clothes, they were suddenly a lot more worried about their little mistake of flying off the handle. Attacking the awakening of their power source would likely prove to be a bad idea.
"Why don't you girls sit down and tell me why Senshi are attacking Senshi here?"
Ranma was mildly perturbed by this change in events.
For one, he'd both given himself a power-up and nerfed himself.
On the power-up side, he could now reduce a mountain to rubble with pretty much one punch. The likes of Saffron probably wouldn't be able to faze him even with his strongest fireball attack. On the purely neat side, he figured he could now fly among other things.
On the nerfed side, even with his power limiter artifacts, his smallest attack resembled Terry Bogard's Power Geyser technique, except that it could destroy a city block while it was merely set to 'stun'. Even then he couldn't do it much lest he crack one of his power limiters and it become even less restrained.
He wasn't too sure how to feel about a few other things. The Great Will of the Universe was sorta now gone. He could still create planets if he wanted to, but it was via his own power, which seemed a touch more manageable outside of combat. Terraforming a planet was in the upper range of his ability, while making a small change would test the lower limits of his control. In that regard, it was more like The Great Will of the Solar System.
It was similar to his ability to create senshi, though he had to wonder why they were in cheerleader outfits and seemed to be so pathetically weak.
Unfortunately, having four of the nine potential 'fiancée' senshi start off by launching an attack in his direction was a tad depressing.
Fortunately, Hotaru broke that tension by hopping into his lap once she was in civilian form and happily wrapping her arms around his neck with a happy cry of, "Sempai!"
Smiling now, Ranma allowed the girl her cuddle. She still seemed to be quite a bit like her Silver Millennium self.
Either way, it was a welcome change of pace to have a nice girl cuddling him.
Reactions to the change in development were mixed.
The senshi of anal jokes was the most outspoken, simply because she was the angriest and loudest. "So, we're supposed to be some kinda magical harems girls to you just because you made some stupid wish?"
On Haruka's side was Michiru, Setsuna and Rei, though at the moment they were remaining relatively quiet.
On Ranma's side was Minako, Makoto, Ami, and Hotaru.
Caught in the middle was Usagi, torn on the issues of her friends, her senshi, her fated love and just trying to make everyone happy.
Ranma sighed, with Hotaru still happily attached to one arm. "Uhm, no, I kinda meant something else when I said fiancée. If you don't want to have anything to do with me, then don't."
Huffing in annoyance, Haruka didn't seem to be any less upset. "So what, we lose our senshi powers then?"
Scratching his head, Ranma could sort of see where they were going. "Uhm nah, not unless you make a habit of blowing apart shrine buildings or something. I might not power ya up, but as long as you're a good guy, why stop that?"
Despite having her arguments shot down, Haruka was on a roll by then. "Powered up? We're already Eternal Senshi! We've already taken care of Galaxia, what the hell do we need you for then?"
Raising an eyebrow, Ranma wondered what the hell they considered so impressive about their magical-girl-in-training forms.
Shrugging, he decided to upgrade Hotaru as she had made it pretty obvious where she stood.
Other than a warm golden glow around Ranma, there was little fanfare leading up to Hotaru's transformation. Her outfit didn't even change, allowing her to keep her black sweater, skirt and tights. Instead, all she gained was a small pair of white angel wings on her back. "Sorry Hotaru-chan, we can work out your outfit later, so I just worked with what you chose to wear."
Hotaru on the other hand was quite pleased with what she had now. The little angel wings weren't much of a change, but it was quite a bit better than merely being called an 'angel'. The affectionate mnssage was quite clear there.
Heck, it was almost as nice as cuddling.
