Great Will: rewritten destinies [Episode 2685]

by Kestral

The Great Will worked by accessing Yggdrasil. While an agent waited in traffic to remove it from Ranma Saotome, who wasn't supposed to have it in the first place, Ranma was making alterations in day-to-day reality or what passed for reality in Nerima.

"I wish I had fiancees as nice as you girls." It had been meant as a casual compliment, just a sort of offhand remark. Small talk. Not Ranma's forte to be sure.

History altered.

10,000 years ago:
In the Silver Millenium there had been the Generals with their on-again/off-again relationships with the Senshi.

Jadeite with Venus for example. Except that none of these relationships had been particularly stable even before Beryl and Metal'la turned the Generals to the Dark Side.

Enter the Knights, having considerably less power than the Senshi and a different task. While the Senshi were essentially the royal bodyguards, the Knights were actually supposed to go out and do things beyond simple combat for the Queen.

There was Basalt, defender of the Royal Nursery, who regularly undertook fact-finding missions for the Queen among her people. There was Bennu, who had a tower on Deimos where he lost himself in research for centuries at a time. Each had roles that they fit. Basalt was the soldier, a common soldier who had risen through the ranks from obscurity. Bennu had been a mage trained in the mystic arts since birth.

Hematite was the brash adventuring youth. Where Basalt had briefly had dated Jupiter and Pluto, Hematite had actually been engaged (one time the Queen had gotten entirely too tipsy) to all the Senshi (past, present, and future).

The Queen had planned that at a certain gathering, she'd decided to call the joke off and that nobody had to marry Hematite that didn't want to.

That, of course, had been the masquerade ball where Beryl had attacked and destroyed the Silver Millenium and Moon Kingdom.

Present:
Sailor Pluto gasped. Hematite was here?! Then-

Pluto explained the situation.

"So, uhm, we're all engaged by an honor arrangement 10,000 years old to marry Hunk-ma?" Minako indicated the boy in their midst.

Sailor Pluto nodded.

Ranma blinked. This was the first he'd heard of it, though for some reason it kinda sounded familiar.

Of course he didn't realize that shortly after running across Mister Daikokuji and his daughter, Genma had come to the conclusion that engaging Ranma was potentially quite profitable.

Mister Kinomoto had just been being nice by feeding the poor guy and his son, but Genma had produced a marriage contract. Years later, Sakura had been born. Sakura Kinomoto had just run across the marriage contract and wondered if she should mention it in her next letter to Li Shouron. CardCaptor Sakura

Grandmother Mano smirked as she ran across the old marriage contract she'd gotten from that thief she'd threaten to skin. If nothing else, Yohko's reaction might be interesting. Devilhunter Yohko

Morrigan Aenslad had been searching through old papers when she'd run across this. Oh yes. She'd run across this martial artist and his son years ago when the guy was defiling a shrine by stealing sacred scrolls. She'd presented herself as the shrine's guardian instead of just a thief out for the same thing and the guy had put the son up as collateral. Morrigan's tongue wet her lips. Maybe the boy had grown up to be attractive. She should check it out. Darkstalkers

The list was long and considerable.
