"Baka! What do you think your doing?" Akane yelled at him. “You’re going to make us late!"
"Jeez Akane... It's just...something’s odd.... "Ranma grumbled.
"Yeah right you’re probably thinking about that bimbo Shampoo!! Waiting for her bicycle so you can flirt again! Ranma NO BAKA!!!" With that Akane's Mallet O'Wa-taking came out *the latest mallet from the mallet of the month club. Serving anime females since 1975!*
"UNCUTE TOMBOYYYYYYYYYyyyyyy" Ranma replied as he flew through the air towards the school. Akane Hmphed and took off after him.
------------------------
Across the street in a dark sedan a window rolled up and a feminine voice spoke up. "That boy.... he draws me... Power draws to power. Just like Eric."
The woman sighed as she remembered her first love. Damn her father! If he hadn't tried to use her as a magical battery she might have convinced Eric to let go of the nexus and be with her!
A single tear trickled down her face as she remembered, remembered the violation as she felt her very soul and power ripped from her by her father. Remembered looking up as she fought the spells that he had placed in her as a child, seeing that woman... Beth yes that was her name... approach her. Begging her to finish the job so that at least her Eric would be safe.
Yes... she expected to die that day. If Beth didn't do the job, than Korendil would have. Instead she had been knocked out and hit by the backlash from her father’s death, frying her mind. Then given into the care of those two healers.
A smile briefly passed by her face as she thought of the two, the mature doctor and her punk street kid protégé. They had nursed her back to sanity, helped her build back up her identity.
Her smile turned sad as she remembered what the healers had told her about Eric. About how he had formed a relationship with Beth and Korendil. At first she hadn't believed it, but then she tracked them down and she saw the truth. They never even knew she was there, as she watched Eric joke happily with the two. She saw it then, saw how happy Eric was.
So she did the hardest thing ever, she let him go. She didn't try to win him back, no he was happy there. She couldn't bring herself to ruin his happiness. SO she left, determined to start anew.
She quickly began to make plans to go elsewhere, California was to close. To close to bad memories and betrayal’s. She considered perhaps investing in that racing firm, but she feared the bad feelings among the elves would stretch even to the East Coast. Then she found it.
Liquidating her father’s assets, she came across a document. Signed by some fool named Genma. In exchange for a meal at an Italian restaurant, she was engaged to some boy named Ranma.
It took some time and money to track him down, but she did. After all even with her temporary 'absence', her company was still running strong. Her executives having kept it profitable while saving her position for when she recovered. Jonathan Harkness, the one who was the lynchpin had been promoted to VP, and soon president of the west coast branch. Yes she knew how to reward loyalty and she needed someone she could trust to run that branch, while she managed the Llewellyn Corporations new Japan branch.
It killed two birds with one stone, got her out of California and she could investigate this Fiancée. She had suspected this Ranma had some sort of gift to him, why else would her Father have cared? Of course after reviewing the background material on the kid, he may have gone along with it because he viewed this Genma as a kindred spirit. He used and abused his son almost as bad as her father had used her. Worse comes to worse she could meet him and break the engagement invoking the penalties against one Genma Saotome. It wouldn't be the same as hurting her father, who was dead, but it would make her feel better.
Then she saw him walking down the street with one of his other fiancées, and felt it. A pull between their two respective powers. It wasn't like Eric's pull to her, oh no this boy wasn't a bard. It was more like two half's fitting together. As if his Martial arts prowess was the perfect complement to her Magical abilities. It didn't hurt that he was easy on the eyes, in both forms.
Oh yes, she wouldn't make the same mistakes this time. She would woo this Ranma properly; make him fall in love with her just as she was falling for him. Fate had decided to give her a second chance at love and acceptance.
And the half-elf Ria Llewellyn wasn't the type to pass up second chances....
Oh dear and why is Nabiki asking for her autograph?
Elsewhere Nabiki twitched, her Yen sense was tingling. A profitable opportunity involving Ranma was afoot!
Ranma finds himself in a bit more serious fight, but nothing he can't handle. Especially once Ria gets involved with her powers.
Pissed off Half-elf vs Happosai! Round 1! fight!
