"Barnette, Jura, Dita! Delta formation and engage the pods!" Meia shouted over the comm-line from where her Vandread was engaging several enemies. In the background, or foreground, if you will, the girls heard Hibiki roar a battle cry as he tore through the Harvester's forces in the avian-shaped Vandread. The young women cried their affirmatives and got into formation with practiced ease, and proceeded to blow the several cube types that emerged from the pods, as well as destroying the pods themselves.
"Barnette! Look out!" Jura cried out in warning, but it came too late. Their formation was broken off as more than several cube-types did a zero-gravity dog pile on Barnette's Dread.
Up, down, left, right, everywhere Barnette looked she saw the angular faces of the cubes. Barnette shook her controls, but her Dread could not move under all the weight. It was then she noticed something. Amongst the 'eyes' of the cubes she saw a slow, pulsing red light. As if beeping to an unknown count-down... Her eyes widened, then slowly closed in resignation. The cubes around her self-destructed.
...So isn't it the most darnedest thing that the rabbit hole appeared under her, and she fell into it?
So it came to as a natural surprise that instead of fiery hot death, she felt rushing air, and a soft thump as she landed on some lump, practically straddling whatever it was she landed on. She still had her eyes closed, and she dared not open them. That is, until she heard a definite male voice.
"Uhm...Can I help ya?" Her eyes shot open, and she took in the visage of a young man with black hair tied in a pig-tail and blue eyes. And the suggestive position they found themselves in.
