Slaves Unl.: Agent's G & S's first mission (LIME) [Episode 27411]

by Greyman

There were many forms of slavery in the multiverse.  The particular Slaves Unlimited store which Genma and Soun had entered specialised in "Quality Merchandise for Discriminating Masters".  In other words, it handled small orders and, at the most, a franchise might process a school bus or small cruise ship.  Usually though, merchandise was procured on an individual basis, provided that individual met with the franchise's high standards.

Standard opperating proceedure was to infiltrate the herd, stake out a target then execute a capture in a manner designed to leave no clues.  Normal targets were anonymous single women who were attractive but with few attachments.  Yet, occasionally, the store accepted comissioned assignments for specific individuals at a higher price.

Case in point: Quisling had recently been contracted to process two individuals for a new client.  Due to their boistrous nature he'd been pondering the best way to capture them without a ruckus.  Then Soun and Genma had entered the store, tripping the mecha-psionic alarms in the process, and their on-the-spot "recruitment" had solved two problems at once.  Should they succeed, Quisling would custom process the captives to their new owner's specifications.  Yet should they fail, a scan of the new operative's memories had provided a perfect cover story: blaming it on another attempt to get the targets' married.

As a minor note of irony, Slaves Unlimited often brokered "aranged marriages" and had a sideline in "marriage counceling".  Had the fathers' intentions on entering the store been less larcenous, Quisling might have considered offering those less expensive services and cancelled the previous contract.

Instead, he'd acquired the services of two opperatives with skills, indicated by their memories, that would make them excelent procurers.  Of course, Quisling would not rely on their assessment alone; their first assignment would test whether their belief in their skills matched reality or was grossly biased.
