Understanding Fiancees: Scientific Progress Goes 'Boink'! [Episode 27574]

by Malthus

To explain the sudden profusion of catgirls in Nerima, we need to take you back a couple of months...

Unbeknownst to Ranma, Nodoka's father, Akira Saotome, was a brilliant scientist. After Nodoka found out about the curse, she asked her father to try to find a cure.

Naturally, when Ranma received a letter from his grandfather telling about the progress he made in finding a cure, he went to visit. Of course, everyone else followed him. Of course, the inevitable fight broke out -- in Akira's study.

The final pieces in the puzzle were Akira's visiting mad scientist friend, Miss Katherine Marple (visiting from England, that is) and Akira's experimental, untested, Jusenkyo-curse-'removing', Transmogrifier Pistol.

Miss Marple, unused to such a level of casual violence, picked up what she thought was a stun-gun (currently set to 'Cat') and started firing away in terror of her life. Oddly enough, the sound effect that accompanied this was a quiet "Boink-Boink-Boink."

She managed to nail half the crowd before realizing what was happening and passing out in a dead faint. On top of the transmogrifier pistol. Thereby breaking it, but not before she was hit by the last blast.

In the aftermath, Akira explained that it would take him at _least_ half a year just to rebuild the Pistol. Since it obviously wasn't working quite right to begin with, he figured it would be over a year before he had one he was willing to test on a human (or catgirl). In the meantime, he would also have to take care of the nekomimi-fied Marple.
