Shinji's new day: End of the war [Episode 28041]

The Wizard nodded. "Oh yes. Here you see one such item. If I were to sell it to you, it would allow you to stop the need for the war with the Angels."

"Stop the need to war with the Angels?" Shinji considered that. "Why are we at war with 'Angels'?"

"To answer that would require me revealing the secrets that your father keeps from you," said the Wizard. "Things that you might prefer not wanting to know. The current lack of children being born ties into it. Other than that I shall leave for later. Details such as how your father is manipulating events towards a goal you wouldn't like and playing power groups off against each other in a web of Machiavellian intrigue."

Shinji opened his mouth to protest. Closed his mouth. Nodded. "Yeah. I guess that does sound like my father."

The Wizard nodded. "Now, take these items here. Each of them can do something that will alter the whole war against the Angels in a different way - bringing the war to an end quickly."

"Yeah, right," said Shinji still not believing this guy, but willing to play along with the game for now. "So what do they do?"

"Each is a bit different," said the Wizard.

• "This cloissoine pin, for example, could fit upon your plugsuit. When you are in an Eva, you would then be able to call the sword it represents and use it in combat as a longsword sized for your Evangelion. With it, you could end the Angels and the very thing they are after. Be careful though, for the sword Stormbringer is as likely to destroy ally as enemy."
• "This golden band, if you wore it, would alter you and four people you specify to a near-human alien species. As such, the Angel Of Death will not be able to touch you or them and you will survive Third Impact. The Angels and their conflict might continue - but their threat would be blunted."
• "This vial contains a virus. Unleashed it could spread around the world within a month. Those infected who survived would become New Types or Mutants if you prefer - and as such not bounded by human evolutionary limits."
• "This old cellphone is still useful. There is a number there, call it and ask for help. There are those whom I would prefer to avoid, but whom will not harm you."
• "This vial contains a virus, but not one that will affect humans. If you release it near the Evangelions, well, then the Angels are in for a rude surprise - and Third Impact will never occur."
