Lamp of Lakash: Ranma accepts Nabiki's immediate marriage proposal. [Episode 28713]

by dpt3

Nabiki had just made a serious, thoughtfully presented marriage proposal to Ranma. Ranma was in female form at the time, but that hardly mattered.

Nabiki had made entirely too much sense. She had found a path to escape from the nightmarish vicious circle Ranma's life had become. It was the first real hope he'd had in too long. Ranma felt 'his' knees go weak, as he came to a fateful, realigning conclusion.

"Yes.", Ranma-chan croaked, big-sweating. "I will marry you. Now if that's what you want." Ranma could feel 'himself' almost faint.

A few moments after the struggle to get the words out, Ranma had physically recovered, but his mind was really in a state of shock. He'd just agreed to marry Nabiki immediately. It was both scary and reassuring, but the idea grew on him the more he introspected on it.

Nabiki burst into a cute smile of elated success, saying, "I'd kiss you, but I don't think I could stop there. I'll make the arrangements." She then picked up the phone.

Ranma barely noticed Nabiki's response.

The next thing Ranma knew, Nabiki was shaking 'his' shoulder gently, wiping the dried blood from his upper lip with a damp rag, and said, "It's time, Ranma, we need to go downstairs. When I tell you, say in English, 'Yes, I do.'. Remember that, 'Yes, I do.'. Got that? Repeat it."

"Yes, I do.", Ranma got out.

Ranma absent-mindedly followed her as she took 'his' hand and led the way out of the bedroom and downstairs.
