Ranma sighed as he looked at the gas gauge on his vehicle. 'I gotta stop somewhere soon or I'm gonna be out of luck.' he thought as the wind began to pick up, scattering more sand up.
The tale of the legendary Ranger Ranma Saotome was well known, if only because he moved around so much. Before his father died to a Flesher, an animal horribly mutated by radiation, he had insisted on teaching his son all about martial arts. Ranma learned much from the man, even though his methods were somewhat harsh. They had traveled far and wide through the various ramshackle communities that evaded the fall into barbarism.
Ranma after his father’s death had decided to devote his life to helping these last vestiges of humanity grow and prosper. He had been present at many of the flesher attacks, fighting beasts that could rend metal in half with fists and the secret Saotome family techniques the Umisenken and Yamensenken.
His technique had blossomed and he was a hero several times over in the region. A lot of the bandit gangs were out for his blood, but this meant little to Ranma other than a chance to rid the world of some scum.
As Ranma approached Hopeville, he noticed a commotion in the distance. He scanned the horizon a bit before seeing two figures fighting on another. As he approached to took note of the two fighting with each other. From where he stood it looked like:
