They should have expected the capture jar, the trap, so - another guardian/trap.
Like the others, it wasn't meant to be fatal. Soiyo Happ was, in the epic scheme of things, pretty pathetic as a villain.
The last trap they'd run into had been the clothes-eating caterpillars. At that point you could have taken the collective clothing of the entire Companye and not had enough for a pair of gloves.
Mercuria made a face. "It's a lingerie golem."
"Rowrrrrr!" Ranma slashed and little pieces of silk began raining down.
"That makes a guardian vase, a lingerie golem, a pink goo trap, a lemon scented gas trap, and a trained caterpillar drop trap," Rii pointed out as the golem was shredded.
"Look, it's our clothes, uhm, sort of." Mercuria pointed out, really happy about the possibility of not feeling so naked in a short amount of time.
"Yes!" Rii practically bounded over to pull the set of clothes off the table.

"Oh hell!" Rii said, sounding thoroughly upset. "Now what?!"
There was a brief moment of wild staring from everyone but neko-Ranma. He yawned.
"Okay, well, we can get our clothes back on," said Rii after it was apparent that there was no immediate doom (or more likely - embarassment) coming down on them.
"Oh dear," said Mercuria, looking at a scroll near the cauldron. "That lemon gas? It, uhm, likely hasn't left our systems yet."
"Well, we're not ripping his clothes off or anything so it should be okay," Myna pointed out.
"According to this, until the drug leaves our system," Mercuria said while pointing to the scroll, "a trigger word or gesture will bring on fifteen minutes of the same effect."
"Oh that could be very bad," agreed Myna. "What's the trigger?"
Mercuria read on. "Ah. Here it is. The trigger is the last word we heard before the gas entered our system. Uhm: What would that be?"
Rii pondered. "I'd just asked about our -
