The kingdom of Ranguard was a fantasy melting pot where misfits and refugees could settle in. Already the first generation of those born and raised there was approaching adulthood. Friendships were forged regardless of race or religion, making for some strange groups.
One such group had been formed around one goal : Win prince Ranma's love ! Cosmic coincidence (or the work of deities who liked Vandread) had them be the local counterparts of the most well-known members of the crew of the starship Nirvana.
Darla Lamstrand (Dita Liebely) was the daughter of pious lathanderites and it showed. An eternal optimist who always looked at the bright side of life, she was a cheerful and enthusiastic girl. She wanted to be a bard to 'make people happy' with poetry, tales and song. The feisty human girl had been a playmate for Ranma practically since he came to this world but her feelings had steadily grown beyond friendship.
Mera Alstar (Meia Gisborn) was an aasimar, a human with a bit of celestial blood. Orphaned by a neogi raid, she had been enslaved at an early age. Her life of servitude was put to an end when a Ranguard spelljammer attacked her masters' ship and she had been personally rescued by a young Ranma who had come along for the ride. Now a paladin squire of Tyr, Mera was now trying to ignore the impure thoughts she kept having about Ranma. The Faerunian god of justice just HAD to allow marriage to his priest and paladins !
Jhaelrnya Seerear (Jura Basil Eden) was a drow cleric-in-training of Eilistraee, hoping to become a Sword Dancer one day. She was also quite prideful and no less than a prince was worthy of her in her opinion ! She had heard the senior priestesses discuss about arranging for a drow to marry Ranma and gladly volunteered. She couldn't wait to know if what they said about human lovers were true...
Belith (Barnette Orangello) was a werecat, one of many who had been brought to Ranguard by the goddess Bast. A peerless archer, hunter and ranger, Belith had run many times into Ranma during his little training trips in the jungle. Well, he was kind of cute and smelled nice... And it was time for her to choose a mate anyway.
Alaethe Moondown (Parfait Ballblair) was a half-elven apprentice wizard with an interest in technology. Her mentor in the magical arts was working at the palace and she had played with Ranma and Darla in her leisure time. She had recently gotten 'The Talk' and was now seeing her friend and prince under a whole new light. Too bad she tended to pull a Tofu if he was too familiar with her.
Last but not least, Myrrath (Misty Cornwell) was a young silver dragon with a case of Love at First Sight on Ranma. She came from Krynn originally and Huma's love story was her favorite. Ranma was her One True Love, her prince charming, she was sure of that. Now to make him realize they were destined for each other.
*****
Years passed, Ranma had finally reached adulthood. He was now a powerful martial artist and was no slouch at using his psionic powers either. He only lacked field experience but was working on it.
The question of his marriage had become a hot topic of debate at the sessions of the council.
The girls had grown up too and became bolder in their attempts at seducing him each day.
Something had to give...
