Darkstalker Usagi: As It Should Be. [Episode 29635]

by Gamlain

A frozen moment.

But not.

No one moved, except to look.

Neptune, princess of the oceans of Makai looked at Serenity, Princess of the Demon Kingdoms.

Uranus, the Dragon of the Earth, locked eyes with Hotaru, Queen of Air and Darkness.

Jupiter, the Princess of Jewels and webs watched with more eyes than two, everyone: Her princess, shineing and lovely, Minako, transformed, flareing like an angry star, an arcangel of destruction that owned hearts who looked upon her, Mercury, a frozen star, cold and perfect, and Mars, blazeing with the fires of war..

Currents of Ki, dark and light pulsed between and amongst them all, as they took in their transformed selves, and learned.

In each, there were changes, subtle and gross.

Their new forms could only be partially hidden now, firstly, but that was only the gross.

The subtle were the changes in their own minds. In Haruka, the rage of the earth, a cataclysim that slept untill unleashed in a breif, devistateing rampage had stirred and broken the bonds of polite society - and been turned to her will.

She no longer needed to chase the wind for control.

In Michiru, wildness had been borne again, something that had once upon a time only touched her music, and then rarely - the inorexable power of the ocean, untamable and unconquord had touched off something in her that was growing larger by the moment, and they all understood that she would no longer be as polite and restrained as she had before.

Hotaru, too, felt a change like that. The Unseelie held in their hands power - incalcuable, indominable, wild power - and she was no longer afraid to use it. Shyness was beginning to fade away into a confidence that would alow her to face down arrogant Makai lordlings and terrify them with a look.

Usagi had simply grown. The changes gave all of them chills of arousal - and not only for her physical changes. The grim force of her princess form now hovered around her, constantly - there would be no more of the clutzy crybaby, or at the very least not so much.

The temper that had smouldered in Rei smouldered no longer; Now it was a bonfire, a whirlwind of flame that rested behind a calm, dark smirk and wanted *out*. Her vision now spoke not of serenity and calm shrine days, but of samurai at war and seas of flame.

Ami had simply sublimed. Perfectionalism had become perfection, a mind that hadn't easily been flustered before now simply would not be, and her intelligence was only increased for it. To, the other change - her reluctance to be agressive, had become something else: a cold, calculateing ruthless devotion to winning, rather than fighting. There would be no more avoiding combat from Ami.

Makoto had gained too - she was no longer so limited as to fear anything. Not flying, not death - allready she understood that while one of her small selves existed, she would not be killed. She had allways harbored a violent streak, but now that was complimented with fearlessness.

Minako, lastly, held in her eyes a look of hunger, of rage on a leash . Where once she had fought to keep only a look of joy and happiness, components of love on her face, now a eager, smouldering anger hovered about her, a bloodlust bearly contained. Hatred joined Love as the second side of the coin, closely bound by magic untill the day Mina learned to rule it as her own.

And the common thread of the changes - the fight, the fight they had enjoyed, with a terrible, feirce presence. They hungered for it, now, and could smell more comeing on the wind and were *glad*.

And they knew that however much the changes looked or seemed odd, unnatural - they were right, and this was the form they were ment to wear in this life.

Then the moment was gone, and people moved.

Haruka surged forwared towards Hotaru and Michiru, causeing the Unseelie to draw in, raiseing power to ward her off - only to be ordered down by a quiet "no." from Hotaru, as Haruka murmered, "Did they hurt you, Hime?" in a voice like the motion of the earth, or the song of the wind.

"No, Haruka-papa. I'm their Princess, they never would! Queen, even." The slim draconic head turned a strong gaze on those who stood close to their Queen and growled, "They had better not." Haruka's rage was quieted - she had just unleashed it, now, it would not explode casually again for a short while, unless she called for it.

A little intimidation of the Dark Elves wouldn't hurt, however.

It was Ami who spoke up next, saying, "Police will be here soon. They are no threat, but can be irritateing. Should we talk elsewhere?"

Usagi's Reply was immediate. "Endymion-chan will be here soon. Lets pick him up and then do that."

Meanwhile -
