Hikari Horaki had been worried at Shinji and Asuka's absence. It couldn't be a NERV emergency since Rei had been there. And as class representative, her duty was clear : printouts for their missed lessons and homework had to be sent to them.
Touji and Kensuke would have been delighted to do it (a precious occasion to perhaps see Misato Katsuragi at the same time) but they had cleaning duties and after-school club activities. She thought of asking Rei but the First Child had already left. So it was up to her.
When Shinji opened the door, she was half-relieved. He didn't look like he was sick or something.
"Hi... Hikari-san ?" He threw a look at the papers in her hands "Oh, I see why you're here. I'll take them and give her part to Asuka. Thanks !" He moved to take the printouts from her but his eagerness and out of character rudeness (he didn't invite her in) spooked her a little. She took a step back. Shinji was really nervous for some reason.
Now, Hikari was worried. He wouldn't act like that unless... He had something to hide from her ! "Ikari-kun ? Can I come in, please ?"
"Uuuh... Sure..." Shinji sweated. He hoped Asuka would stay in his room and that Hikari wouldn't go in the kitchen. He had to make it quick or his current spell would be wasted !
The class representative put down the school printouts on the table and noticed the claw marks. Then she saw something else on the floor, Asuka's link interface headband. She never went anywhere without them. What is going on here ? "Ikari-kun ? Where's Asuka ?"
Shinji gulped "Er... She's out, sorry"
"Really ? Where ?"
"She didn't say. Perhaps she went shopping or to see Kaji-san" Please believe it, please believe it, please believe it...
Okay, there was something wrong with this picture. She picked up the interfaces and showed them to Shinji. He was looking really uncomfortable now "We both know that Asuka never leaves these, Ikari-kun. I think you're trying to hide something from me..."
"No ! that's ridiculous ! Why would I do that !?"
"You better come clean on this, Ikari Shinji ! Where... is... Asuka !?"
Shinji was ready to panic. If she kept on talking so loudly, surely Asuka would come to see what was the source of all the noise, cats have good hearing, he remembered "I... I told you ! She's not here !"
Hikari was ready for another angry retort when something else caught her attention "What's that smell ?"
"Nothing !" Too bad shinji's vehement denial and moving to cut access to the kitchen meant the opposite.
"Really ? Then you won't mind if I get a look ?" She didn't wait for his approval and pushed him out of the way. What she found in there wasn't what she had expected however "What the... ?" The drawings in the opened book were enough for her to get an idea however, Asuka had been right all along ! "Shinji...You... You hentai !"
Shinji wanted to go crawl under the biggest rock he could find. Now he would never hear the end of this...
Then Hikari did something stupid. Caught in a righteous rage against the third child, she knocked some components of the spell out of alignment.
Suddenly, arcs of lightning ran along all the paraphernalia on the table while the liquid parts started to boil angrily, emitting foul-looking fumes. The table trembled and the Hentainomicon itself glowed with power.
There was a flash then silence reigned.
Shinji opened his eyes and got a good look. His eyes grew large and his jaw dropped. Hikari Horaki had become...
