"I... I don't know!" Mara wasn't having a good day. Since waking, she had found that she used to be a demon, now was a mortal without any memory, not much of a chance of getting her memory back... and now she had an angry goddess looming in her face.
Skuld snorted. "She was trying to get to Keiichi through you, Megumi. She's done this before."
Megumi turned to the young goddess. "She has?!"
Skuld nodded. "Yep, she's turned you into a car once. Heh, that was the last time she lost her memory, too..."
Mara was aghast, but Megumi was shocked. "I thought that was a dream!"
"Well, we thought it would be better for you not to remember..." Skuld said with a shrug.
"why did i do that?" Mara whispered.
This time, Urd answered. "It wasn't anything personal on your part. It was your job. You were a demon, and you had been assigned to do everything you could to damn Keiichi's soul."
Then Mara did something that the norns never thought they'd see. She broke down and began to weep.
Peorth just watched all this in confusion. The translation spell had worn off...
