The Eye: Changes (LIME) [Episode 31028]

by Deric

Ranma led Kasumi up to Nabiki's room. "Nabiki, can we see you for a minute?"

"We?"

"Me and Kasumi."

"Alright, come in."

Closing the door behind them, Ranma tried to form a coherent thought that would not sound too weird to someone who did not have the Visions themselves. The longer he took, the more impatient Nabiki became. Finally, she snidely remarked, "Well, your minute is almost up. I hope you got to see what you wanted. Good bye."

"Aw, forget it, Kasumi," he said, turning to leave, "this is just too weird, even for me."

That comment piqued Nabiki's curiousity. "Wait," she said, crossing to bar the exit, "this sounds as if it might be interesting. What is it?"

"So, let me get this straight," Nabiki queried, "you, Kasumi, have been having these Visions since...our mother...died? And lately, Ranma has started to see them?"

"Yes," Kasumi confirmed quietly.

"And now, I'm in them and you want to see if they change when we're all together?"

"That's right," Ranma agreed.

"Well, there's my mirror. Let's see."

There was no change in the Vision.

"Maybe we should be...dressed...as we are in the Vision?" Kasumi blushed.

"Aw, no. No way," Ranma stated, growing beet red.

"Why not?" Nabiki asked curiously, seeing their reactions.

A few minutes later, in the changing room to the furo...

"Nothing," Ranma said.

"Perhaps if Nabiki and I were on opposite sides?" Kasumi suggested.

They shuffled around until Kasumi stood at his right and Nabiki at his left. "I don't see any difference."

"This is different," Nabiki smirked as she reached for Ranma's third leg. "It's thicker and starting to stand up."

"Jeeze, Nabiki," he said irritatedly, smacking her hand away from his member, "I'm trying to be serious, here."

"Oh, I'm totally serious about this," She teased, grinning as her hand gripped his tool.

Ranma was about to forcibly remove that hand, when Kasumi bade him to halt. "Ranma, stop. Look at the vision, now."

It was not something he really wanted to see in this life. Probably not even in any past lives. The vision was of the three of them, naked and exhausted on the sweat soaked sheets of Kasumi's bed, sprawled in a scattered pile, and a look of peace and contentment on each of their faces.

Using both his hands, he unlatched Nabiki's grip from his privates and tossed the offending hand back at her. "Damn, wasn't this supposed to try and prevent something like that?"

"What was it?" Nabiki asked.

"I ain't sayin'. If Kasumi wants ya ta know, she'll tell ya," Ranma huffed, as he grabbed a towel to wrap around his waist before picking up his clothes and leaving the room. "I'm gonna go see Doc Tofu. Now. On second thought, make that the Old Ghoul. This is gettin' way too weird fer me, anymore." His speech patterns, which had been getting better since he had been living at the Tendo home, had degraded to those patterns he had had when he first arrived. These indicated, at least to Nabiki, just how irritated and out of sorts he felt.

While dressing, Nabiki found out from Kasumi what the two Visions had contained. Understanding why he had changed his mind from going to see Tofu, though Kasumi still had no clue, she was determined to get to the Nekohanten before he blabbed everything to Cologne and put herself and Kasumi in the firing line. If it was anything else, she would have sent one of her underlings to record the meeting. This would be much too close and personal for her to let anyone else know about it.

Nabiki did not run. That would have drawn attention to just how much she wanted this kept secret. She hurried as fast as she could without attracting unwanted notice and was rewarded as she saw Cologne come out of the back room to approach the table where Ranma was sitting. Heaving a mental sigh of relief, she went straight to one of the unused chairs at the table and sat. "I'll have what ever he's having."

"What are you doing here, Nabiki," he scowled.

She cocked an eyebrow, one of her standard business expressions, and said, "What you will be telling her affects my family as much as it does you. I want to know everything she says," then turned to Cologne, "or doesn't say."

Ranma scowled further, but Cologne just cackled with glee. It was so much fun to play with the middle Tendo sister. Sharp, but not as knowledgeable or experienced as Nabiki thought she was. Although she could, and had, come up with a few zingers often enough. "I expect you to weigh my words carefully, Nabiki Tendo," she said in a friendly tone. After a short pause, in a harder edged voice she added, "And you may expect me to weigh yours, as well."

Cologne respected competence and Nabiki had that in spades, for one so young. Such an Amazon she would have made! An invitation to join the tribe would have been offered, once she left home, if only she had even her younger sister's level of skill in the Art.

"So, what brings you to see me, Son-in-law?"

Without even protesting her form of address, Ranma got straight to the point, "I want to know what you see, Elder."

"And what do you mean by that, boy?" By calling her by one of her titles, the elderly Amazon knew he wanted something. The questioning reply was merely a ploy to keep him talking.

"Don't play games with me, Cologne. You have the eye of a seer on your shoulder."

Cologne hid her surprise when her attention was drawn to the eye over his right shoulder. 'This is not good. If Ranma has the Sight, getting him into the tribe will be that much harder. But, it makes it that much more imperative that he does join.' She nonchalantly stated, "And so do you, Son-in-law."
