Akane sat down on her bed and glowered angrily at Romeo as he worked on recovering from the beating she had given. It wasn't as satisfying, and, in fact made her feel rather guilty. After all, Romeo was obviously not as resilient as Ranma.
It wasn't fair! She was too young to be a mother! She was too young to be married! And if she was going to be married why couldn't it be to Ranma, who wouldn't make a move on her without the help of some magical artifact or potion. Now that Ranma was actually beyond her reach she could admit that he was far from a pervert. And he'd be a good, if somewhat prudish father, to his kids.
And what about her and HER fated match, the rather startled looking lump of somewhat older boy that was lying in front of her. She ahd no idea what this "Romeo" was like, but from the sounds of it he was some kind of hired assassin or thief. Also, considering what she thought of her past behaviour she was beginning to doubt her ability as a mother. (self-doubt being one of Akane's main weaknesses)
Akane sighed, leaned into her palms and began weeping, and quietly damning hers and Ranma's fathers. She stopped when someone tapped her on the shoulder, and looked up narrowed eyed to see a nervous looking Romeo who bowed formally, if in a rather archaic European style.
"I'm sorry," he said seriously.
"A fat lot of good that does me," Akane snapped, but she let Romeo sit next to her and started crying into his shoulder.
Neither noticed the small black form that came in, weary and eventually recognized Akane's scent and saw a distrusted Akane crying into an unknown male's shoulder.
