At a young age(and due to some weird plot twist) Ranma was taught by people with REAL talent, as opposed to an idiot like Genma.

• All twelve of the Golden Saints of Athena! Akane beware! ! !
  "YOU PERVERT!!! YOU DID SOMETHING TO MY SISTER DID'T YOU ?!?!"
  "Please calm down Miss, so much negative ki is not good for you"(Virgo Shakas influence speaking here)
  "WHY YOU. . . . DIEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!"
  "Well, if that is how you want it . . . SHINE!!!!!!"( Hmmmm looks like Ranma may have spent a bit too much time around Cancer DeathMask and Gemini Saga).
• Kenshiro of the Hokuto Shin Ken. Anyone who comes in yelling "RANMA PREPARE TO DIE!!!" is not going to be around very long.
• Son Goku(the one form Chinese legend not the Saiya) is looking to work of some bad karma by training a hero in this modern world.
• Dios, the fallen Prince of Legend, is hoping to train someone to end the actions of his evil counterpart. Several years later Ohtori Academy is getting one unusual student whose sporting a rose ring.
• Sesshourmaru has been bored lately and, remebering that Rins presense was actually pleasent, decides to train this young boy in the ways of the TRUE warrior.
• Dark Scheider is wandering in between dimensions looking for something interesting to do and comes across a boy with an unusual talent, looks like Kall-su and Arshe are going to have a bit of company growing up!
