Usagi's Fellowship: From the Darkness, a new friend [Episode 32342]

by Kestral

There were stranger alliances to be sure.

As Hotaru Tomoe and Sakura Kinnomoto traded phone numbers and contact information, unburdened with thoughts of conspiracies and the like, each had their own agenda nonetheless.

In the case of these two it was Hotaru's desire to have more friends than Chibi-usa, and Sakura's desire to have someone to relate to and be open around after Li's return to China.

CardCaptor Sakura and Sailor Saturn continued to get acquainted and make plans for a visit to a sweets shop, while below them a group of Senshi teleported out of a crowd of paparazzi.

On being subjected to this mode of transportation, the last the crowd heard from Ranma Saotome was that he had to learn that special manuever!

Sailor Mercury, Ami Mizuno, was a wee bit nervous.

With good reason, even with her going to a used book store and getting several copies of the Japanese translation of Lord Of The Rings for her friends. This enemy was a known quantity and was relatively weak now.

He wouldn't stay that way, and neither Saruman nor Sauron were dumb. She had theorized that the reason Bilbo and Frodo had been able to hold onto the One Ring and resist its siren call as long as they had were due to two factors:

As there were no hobbits anywhere to be found, and humans were a known quantity, that left the Senshi with only Luna and Artemis as potential Ringbearers if it came to it.

If Usagi with the Ginzuishou were taken by the Darkness - as it would appeal to her good intentions and desire to do good deeds and then utterly corrupt her, would anyone survive?

There was an obvious answer.

"I say we strike now. Hard. Fast. Using overwhelming firepower."

Everyone stared at Sailor Mercury making such a statement.

"Sounds good to me," said Sailor Uranus, wondering at her own agreement with the usually violence-reluctant Inner.

"I concur," put in Neptune.

Das Mouse frowned slightly but his tail was making nervous strokes behind him. "What about those who would rather join your forces than stick around possessed archmages?"

"If these two are allowed to gather their forces, they will be much more difficult to stop," said Mercury. "In order to treat a disease, it is best to do so before the symptoms become severe."

Das Fieldermouse was clearly not happy with the decision that many of his colleagues would be considered "incidental targets" or some such.

The discussion continued, with Mercury (for once) advocating pre-emptive strikes - along with Uranus and Neptune. Pluto keeping an eye out for an annoying pigtailed boy who wanted to learn their attacks and how they teleported (they had to dual jump to the shrine to lose him). Saturn inordinately pleased about something. Mars and Jupiter were trying to read those aforementioned copies of Lord of the Rings. Venus and Moon were throwing out other suggestions that maybe didn't have quite the tendency for destroying buildings and the like as an en masse attack.

Das throwing out an occasional suggestion himself merely added to the confusion.

Eventually though it was decided:
