"Hey, Bast, take a look at this!"
Bastet, sister-wife of Sekhmet, and Egyptian Goddess of Cats, Sex, and Pregnancy, among other things, was quick to see what Sekhmet thought was so important.
"Well, now, this is nice," she said, looking admiringly at the attached picture.
"A prospective Demigod of Carnal Pleasure?" said Urd, who'd been evesdropping. She hadn't had much to do since Belldandy & Keiichi's wedding, and was looking for a new 'project'. "Someone should go down there to ... interview him, and perhaps, show him the ropes, so to speak."
"I should go," said Skuld. "He's sixteen, I look sixteen, and he should react better to someone his own age."
"You're not the only one who still looks sixteen," said Eruqros, a sort of Greco- Japanese Strengh Goddess (yes Goddess, it isn't her fault if her name sounds male to some people), who had once been a mortal named Tendo Akane, until Eris had fed her some Ambrosia. No on knows why. Whenever most people asked her, she just smiled. When Eruqros or Toltiir asked her, she giggled. This was enough to worry whole pantheons. "Besides, I have a ready-made avatar, my counterpart is engaged to him."
"You're not the only one with a counterpart there, 'sister'," said Fleece, Goddess of the Quick Yen (an alternate Tendo Nabiki). She was still getting used to this oddly calm version of her normally tempermental younger sister, but they got along well enough. "...and, isn't she his pet, right now?"
"I think perhaps I should go," said Eilistraee, her habit of nudity making her appreciation of his image quite visible, "I've been the Dark Maiden for far to long, and that young man would be a much better god of male Drow than Vhaeraun."
And so the argument went, distracting the goddesses long enough for one or two of the interested parties to slip away unnoticed.
