“Master... what’s going on here?” she asked. “My bond with…” she sneered at Sextome corpse “that has moved over to you! What’s going on here?”
Ranma thought for a second and was suddenly bombarded with some of Sextome’s knowledge. It seems he assimilated more then the sociopath power. Ranma was never a stupid person, uneducated yes but above the norm in intellectual potential. When he assimilated Sextome’s potential he doubled his own, intellectual included, and while he had no context to place it in (and there fore could not recall it at will), Sextome’s knowledge was still present in his mind. He just needed something to jog his memory. When Barnette mentioned the bond, Ranma’s mind played a string of information pertaining to pokegirls, their masters, and the relationship between them.
“Master? Are you alright?” asked Barnette
Ranma looked at the pokegirl, slowly recalling the facts about pokegirls. The recall was far from perfect, like the memory of a dream. When he looked at her, a single word made it’s way to his lips. “Barnette.”
“How do you know my name?” asked Barnette in surprise. She was confused more now then ever. She hadn’t mentioned it, and she sure as hell knew Sextome didn’t. He referred to all his Pokegirls by their species if they were lucky, and slurs like bitch, whore, and slut if they weren’t.
Ranma sighed. During his time at the Tendo’s he had seen too many movies and TV shows that dealt with interdimentional travel, and not being a total putz, he could see the writing on the wall. Hell, he has seen some American made Jet Lee movie that had the same thing happen to the main character that just happened to him! How to explain this… oh well, he could always rip off the explanation they always used in those poorly dubbed American shows, hell he could use the explanation they used in that Jet Lee movie too! It actually fit pretty damn well...
“Barnette...”
“Yes, master?” she asked.
“First thing. I’m ‘Ranma’, not ‘master’,” he stated.
“But.” Barnette pointed to the dead Sextome. “He’s Ranma...”
“Were both Ranma.”
Barnette blinked. “Huh?”
“Barnette, lets say...” Ranma paused for a moment trying to find the exact wording they always used in those shows. “Okay. Lets say this is not the only Earth. Lets say there are a infinite number of earths where everything that could happen had happened. Ya know, everything if you turned left instead of right in another world you turned right instead of left ta a world where the dinosaurs never went extinct and the world is ruled by lizardmen or somethin’.”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
Ranma paused. What was that word they always used? Oh yeah... “I’m from a parallel universe.” He pointed to the body “In fact I’m a alternate version of him. Were the same but different.”
“I... I think I understand,” Barnette lied. “So how am I bonded to you?”
“When I killed him, I think I absorbed his chi and spirit. The bond must have come with,” he stated. “Probably how I know so much about pokegirls and stuff even though I never hear of ‘em before. How I know your name too…”
Both heads turned as Dita groaned in discomfort.
“Oh no! Dita!” exclaimed Barnette
Ranma looked at the girl, and another bit of information flagged in his head. Somewhere in his mind the information that pokeballs contained a minor healing function was jogged. He stepped over to the dead Sextome and removed a pokeball that he KNEW to be empty. He pointed the ball at Dita and recalled her. “I’ll let her heal in there for the moment.”
“I see. Good idea, Mas…er I mean Ranma. So, what now?” asked Barnette.
Ranma shrugged. “I don’t know. What’s his is mine and I need stuff so I’m gonna loot Sextome’s body, I might try and find out how I got here, and it looks like it getting late so shelter might be a good idea. You got any ideas?”
“Well,” said Barnette
