Their rescuer was literally a knight in shining armor. Clad in brilliant chainmail and wielding a sword wreathed in silver flame, the storybook figure seemed out of place in the thick jungle the three girls had found themselves in. The knight hit struck the demon, his sword cutting cleanly through the fiendish being. He reversed his grip and struck again, and the demon dissipated into mist with a blood-curling screech.
"Thanks for your help," Said Ukyo. "We couldn't land a scratch on that thing."
"Of course not." Muttered an irritated voice from behind them. The girls spun around to find a stout, grumpy looking dwarf wearing a leather vest with a wide variety of vials and wands strapped to it. "That was a devil. You can't do much damage to 'em unless 'ou got silver of blessed weapons."
Akane frowned. "I thought it was a demon."
The dwarf snorted. "Shows how much 'ou know."
Akane bristled. "Do you have to be rude?"
The dwarf's retort was cut off by the knight. "Forgive us for not introducing ourselves. I am Bradine Teleir, paladin of the Silver Flame. My ally here is Dorth d'Kundarak, and artificer. Pardon me for asking, but what are you three doing here in the jungles of Xen'drick?"
"We're lost." Replied Shampoo.
"So what are you guys doing out here?" Ukyo asked. "Hunting Devils?"
Bradine chuckled. "No, no. We were just..."
