The potion had affected Ranma on a completely different level.
On another world, in the 30th Century, the identical potion would have affected a loony who would name himself "Nemesis Kid" and use his resulting superpower to go up against superheroes.
Ranma's new talent was quite simple - he would adapt to any attack within seconds to make himself invulnerable. Shoot at him, and his skin could armor to beyond the penetration value of the next shot. Tag him with a Shishi Hokoudan and he could end up sucking the energy right out of the air.
Any situation, any threat, he could eventually deal with.
