The werepanthress Hotaru, and the werechimera, (wolf & lion) Chibi-usa continued to sit on the branch of the tree in the backyard of the Tsukino home. Hotaru had been up there a few hours, and Chibi-usa over twenty-four hours already. It was now around dinner-time and both were feeling hungry and wanted to get down.
"I wonder why no one has come out back to check on us." Hotaru muttered.
"You'd think my own parents would have noticed I something was wrong when I wasn't around..." Chibi-usa said.
Both girls sighed. The Panthress Sovereign of Silence and the Hell Spawn of the Moon Werechimera Mini-Moon began to wonder when someone was going to realize that they weren't around.
As if to answer their prayers, the backdoor opened, and Raphiel stepped out. The werecheetah looked around the yard. "Hotaru? You here?"
"Raphie Papa!" Hotaru called out. "I'm up here, Raphie Papa!"
Chibi-usa blinked her eyes in shock. "Did you call him 'Papa'?"
Hotaru nodded. "Yes. Michiru Mama's mother said he would make a good 'Papa' so she insisted I refer to him as 'Papa' as well as Haruka."
Nodding her head, Chibi-usa was accepting of that.
Raphiel looked up and saw Hotaru and some pink-furred girl sitting on the three branch. "Hey, what are you two doing up here?"
"We're stuck Raphie Papa!" Hotaru said. "Can you get us down?"
Raphiel nodded his head. "Hold on, I'll be right there."
And so, Raphiel walked over to the tree and climbed it. Soon he was sitting on the tree branch with Hotaru and Chibi-usa. "Are you two okay?"
"Yes, please get us down, sir." Chibi-usa asked nicely.
Raphiel wrapped one arm around Hotaru, and the other arm around Chibi-usa. "Okay, I'm going to jump down now, and then I'll let you two down as well."
*CREEEEEEAAAAAAAK*!
Raphiel, Hotaru, and Chibi-usa blinked simultaneously. They looked and saw that the branch was braking. While it could withstand the weight of two pre-teen weres, it could not handle the combined weight of two pre-teen weres AND an 'adult' werecheetah.
*SNAP*! *CRASH*!
Raphiel groaned as he lay on the ground. Hotaru and Chibi-usa were okay, but mostly because Raphiel had broken their fall and they were sitting on top of him. The two pre-teen were stood up, giving Raphiel the chance to get back onto his feet. He stretched his back, making an audible popping sound. "Oh man... Well,at least you two are all right."
It was then that Raphiel noticed that he had two girls, each glomping onto a leg. "Uh... Girls?"
"Thank you, Raphie Papa!" Hotaru said thankfully as she squeezed his leg tighter.
"Yeah! Thank you very much! I was really getting hungry." Chibi-usa said.
Raphiel smiled, a bit embarassed. "Er... It's okay, really." After a moment, he asked, "Could you girls let go now, I have some news for Hotaru."
The girls did as Raphiel requested. "What is it, Raphie Papa?"
"Michiru asked me to tell you that you'll be staying here with Chibi-usa for the next couple of days. She already talked with Mrs. Tsukino, and she said it was okay with her." Raphiel spoke.
"Really?" Hotaru asked. "How come?"
Raphiel shrugged his shoulders. "No clue. Haruka and Michiru didn't give me much of a response. They gave me a suitcase with some of your things and said to take it down to you."
Raphiel cringed as he saw Hotaru looked teary-eyed. "You mean they don't want me around?" Hotaru asked.
Shaking his head, Raphiel answered, "That's not it. It's just something about Michiru's mother." Seeing that Hotaru looked somewhat dejected still he said, "Hey, how about after dinner, I take you two out for ice-cream!"
Seeing the two girls cheer, Raphiel smiled. He may not have been the smartest person in the world, but he probably had the greatest understanding of anyone of how kids thought. Hell, it was how he usually thought and acted himself.
"WOW! I thought Dr. Diggers was the only one that knew that trick!"
"Sure!"
"Can I play too?"
